The RVA Lions have and are taking a very different path towards future success by building relationships through community projects, as they have a limited expat community in the Richmond VA area. This approach is certainly worth a listen to anyone involved in growing Aussie Rules Football in the USA.

With new and unique local initiatives and the support of other USAFL clubs to their north and south, they are on the road to forging a new path for Aussie Rules football to be enjoyed along the east coast of the USA.

On the show today we meet up with Martin Coventry of the Portland Steelheads & Sockeyes, one of the most decorated players in the USAFL with 15 Best & Fairest Award (MVP) wins and a host of other successes.

From early days or footy with the North Carolina Tigers to National Championship wins with the Steelheads, Martin's story is certainly worth a listen, with a few amusing anecdotes to go with it.

We also have on the show Andrew Beh of the Jacksonville Saints. First established in 2018 the Saints had a pretty good start to their club with a few players teaming up in 2019 with the Boston Demons to win the Div 2 USAFL Eastern Regionals in Raleigh NC.

Andrew conveys how he set out to work on the structure of the club from the beginning and began to grow the sport for the first time in the northern east area of Florida for the first time.

We intro the show with a short remembrance for Patrick Bilder of the Tampa Bay Tiger Sharks. Pat or 'Patty' as he was known to many, was tragically lost in an accident over the weekend.

We chat with Danny Cowser of the newly formed Wasatch War Gulls, in Salt Lake City, Utah, and learn how they came to be and a little about Danny's background. Somewhat isolated from many other teams because of distance that hasn't stopped Danny's enthusiasm to have a kick with some friends and start the War Gulls on the path to success.

We also have on the show Mark Piorkowski of the Memphis Hounds a team still in development. Mark caught the footy bug when back up in Boston but when he moved to Tennessee and Memphis this past year, he thought he would have a go at starting a team there. Outside 50 with your hosts Rick Shaibani & Wayne Kraska. In this episode we recap the first 6 and explain a little why we are here and producing podcasts about USA Aussie Rules.

Then we are entertained greatly by Dallas McCulloch VP of the Hawaii Eagles, a brand new club in 2019. Dallas does tell us a little of his background and some of his early experiences with Aussie Rules including some time playing with the Austin Crows and down in Melbourne, but also some of the lighter moments as well and recruiting Punk & Heavy Metal Rock friends, who he often works with as a Punk Rock band tour manager.

There is some good times to be had in Hawaii as we all know, but if you want to take a trip to play a little footy as well, Dallas should be your first drinking buddy we think. Buy him one for us.

The Hurricane are having an Invitational Tournament on May 2nd this year, for men's and women's teams and any players, and Justin fills us in on how he started to love playing footy originally with the Atlanta Kookaburras club, before moving to Savannah, Georgia, quite a few years ago.

Outside 50 with your hosts Rick Shaibani & Wayne Kraska. Today we chat with Tom Ellis the USA Revolution Head Coach and hear about the prep of USA men's team readying for the International Cup in Queensland Australia in late July.

Tom who first got involved in Aussie Rules in 1999 with the Denver Bulldogs, has been a player himself in two International Cups and this year will be his second as Head Coach.

Tom discusses an exciting development for Revolution team with a swag of the squad coming from USA players now playing down in Australia, mostly in Melbourne, the historical home of the game in Australia.

With a Revo camp coming up in late February in Houston Texas and a separate tour to Croatia with a team this year, the USA men's team development is certainly going ahead full steam.

Outside 50 with your hosts Rick Shaibani & Wayne Kraska. Today Krazz talks with Christina Licata the USA Freedom Head Coach and gets the lowdown on the USA women's team build-up to the International Cup in Queensland Australia in late July.

Christina who is the USA's sole Level 2 coach, (thats men's as well) tells us some of her history with Aussie Rules dating right back to 2005 where she was attending the last year of College at Arizona State University in Phoenix, Arizona.

We hear how technology is helping the Freedom coaches and Christina connect and track the 28 USA selected players and 6 emergencies athletic training programs as they prepare for the 2020 IC.

With early games with the Arizona Hawks, Christina established the New York Magpies with her best friend Andrea Casillas, as well as being on the first tour of Australia with the Freedom team in 2009.

Christina retired from player several years ago after repeated ACL knee surgeries took its toll.

Sara tells Outside 50 some of her decisions on how she thought it was time to leave the Denver Bulldogs team where she had played for many years and start another team closer to where she lived and several other interested people that she knows.

Hear about Sara's time with the Bulldogs and her travels to Australia to try out for VWFL teams, and whats in store for the Tigers in 2020.
