Kelsi chats with pastor and author, Steve Kruschel, about his latest devotional, A Year of Confession with Augustine: 365 Daily Devotions for the Restless Heart. The devotional will be out October 13, 2026 and is now available for preorder.

Steve Kruschel serves as a pastor in Platteville, Wisconsin. He has graduated with degrees from Martin Luther College, Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary, and the University of Nebraska. For almost two decades, he has served as a pastor at churches in Nebraska and Wisconsin. He has authored two other books and numerous articles through 1517. He thanks the Lord every day for his wonderful wife, Becca, and the eight children with whom the Lord has blessed them.

Amy Orr-Ewing (DPhil, Oxford University) is an international speaker, theologian, and apologist. Orr-Ewing speaks at churches and on university campuses around the world and has spoken in the UK Parliament, the United States Capitol, and the West Wing of the White House. Kelsi interviews Pastor Brian W. Thomas about his latest book with 1517 Publishing, By Water and the Word: God's Gift of Baptism for You at the latest Northwest Arkansas HWSS conference. The book serves as a visual and written guide to the Lutheran view of baptism which Kelsi and Brian both argue lines up with the Scriptural view of baptism. Brian W. Thomas is the pastor of Grace Lutheran in San Diego, California. He frequently contributes to 1517 and has written several books, including Wittenberg vs. Geneva: A Biblical Bout in Seven Rounds on Doctrines that Divide and Clothed with Christ: A Biblical Style Guide for Sinners.

Trueman (PhD, University of Aberdeen) is professor of biblical and religious studies at Grove City College. He is an esteemed church historian and previously served as the William E. Simon Fellow in Religion and Public Life at Princeton University. Trueman has authored or edited more than a dozen books, including The Creedal Imperative; Luther on the Christian Life; and Histories and Fallacies. Trueman is a member of The Orthodox Presbyterian Church.
