3:46
Growing up with two parents who demonstrated hearts of giving. Jamal's dad was his only basketball trainer and both parents taught discipline, faith and the golden rule.
7:53
Jamal’s brother was miraculously born, yet diagnosed with Downes Syndrome. Jamal learned about being his brother’s keeper and eventually started an annual special needs basketball camp.
13:31
Transitioning from playing in college to a new chapter in life, coming of age in the midst of having a lack of discipline and focus on God.
18:51
On a routine night in the life, Jamal was pulled over for a DUI. Through mercy from a police officer, something he had experienced before, Jamal actually thanked them for saving his life and the life of another. This actually caused him to be proud of that moment in wanting to change.
27:10
After the arrest, God had to rid of Jamal's desire for approval of people with his public image tainted. He still was able to get around God’s plan, but close people were calling him out with love. Feelings of emptiness along with learning how to let go and getting sober from alcohol were brining Jamal into a new season. Noticing the change, his support system and even clients applauded the sincerity.
32:47
The pivot moment came after watching a YouTube video of an Uber driver witnessing for Christ, asking the riders where would they go if they died today. A sober-minded life created inertia for him to have more urgency in life and faith in Jesus, peace and the accountability of those close.
41:20
Jamal shares the dfference in his training today, being 'called' and how a person’s value is the new motivation, not the money they can earn from their talent. How he takes fare of time, gives glory to God and hates sin that prevents people from their best.
50:15
Jamal’s last word for the folks.
