  • Over The Culture: December 5th, 2021 (Eddie's Reign)

Some non-driving douche u-turned into my lane as I was nearing...and the fucker decided to stay in my lane!!! Arrrggggh! If I was the guidance counselor at Oxford High School, I would've told Ethan Crumbley to use the gun on himself before he used it on anyone else...and then I would lose my job that day.  Everyone's talking about the Bizzy Bone/Three Six episode at the latest Versus as if we already didn't know Bizzy was crazy.  Latest in Roommate-Gate and my take on  "True Story" on Netflix, starring Kevin Hart & Wesley Snipes.  "Life of Crime 1984-2021" on HBO Max is a harrowing tale about 3 drug abusers over the course of three decades.  Interesting documentary, but very eerie as well.  Berner's latest album "Gotti" is solid, but Havoc and Styles P's latest joint album "Wreckage Manner" is probably doper, but shorter.  "Beverly Hills Cop" premiered in theaters on this day (12/5) in '84, and shot Eddie Murphy to tha moon!!!!!  Music ("Thousand Ghosts"), by Ryme Skeem.

  • Over The Culture: November 28th, 2021 ("Beavis and Butt-Head Are Never Dead")
This crow I'm eating is very dry. About as dry as the Cowboys November stretch. I proclaimed on last week's show on how I'm thankful for how the Buckeyes are gonna beat that team up north, and according to yesterday's game, I didn't know WTF I was talking about. But hey, it took those fux 10 years to beat Ohio State, and it'll be another 10 before that shit happens again 😭. "The Killing of Kenneth Chamberlain" was a heart wrenching thriller. The DMX documentary "Music Box: DMX: Don't Try To Understand" is also heart wrenching, and they're both available on HBO Max. "8 Bit Christmas" was a cool holiday flick worth watching once. All of these are available on HBO Max, amongst other things... Beavis and Butt-Head were moronic, violent, and overall, had no redeeming qualities whatsoever. But they spoke to a generation of 90s kids during the era of the antihero. My great-grandmother would have been 94 today. Happy heavenly birthday to Airy B. Blakely. Not just one of the greatest women in my family, but one of the greatest people I'll ever know in my life. RIP to my grandmother as well as my buddy Abel Abeyta. Much love 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 Music ("Yesterday's Hero") by Great Lakes Crew.

There's an imposter Ryme Skeem out on the loose and he goes by the name Micah. Kyle Shittenhouse proves reminds us that in the courts of 'Merica, white is always right. I'm thankful for Richard Williams taking his daughters to court (the tennis ones) for all those years. "King Richard" is an instant classic. "The Curse of Von Dutch" is a crazy fucking story! "A Choice Of Weapons: Inspired By Gordon Parks" is a great story! Apollo Brown & Stalley, Snoop Dogg, French Montana, and Jedi Mind Tricks all released their latest, and I was thoroughly pleased with them all. Wu Tang Clan's "The W" was released on this day in 2000, and features some of RZA's best production, despite having a subdued, grittier approach. Music ("Say My Name") by Ryme Skeem... the real Ryme Skeem 😂. RIP Young Dolph!!! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

  • Over The Culture: November 14th, 2021 ("Blacking Out")
Roommate proves once again why he's a bitch! Joel Ortiz, Aesop Rock & Blockhead, and Silk Sonic all released on Friday ("Autograph," "Garbology," and "An Evening With Silk Sonic," respectively). All are good projects. Jay-Z released "Black Album" on this day in '03, and the hip-hop world was thankful. And even more thankful that this wasn't his last album. Music ("Fresh of the Kitchen Table") by the Great Lakes Crew.

Being a misguided youth is one thing, but being misguided at middle age is pathetic and it needs to stay the hell away from me. Henry Ruggs has fucked up, and I'm sure he's aware at this point. The Astroworld fiasco is one reason why I don't do festivals. "Colin in Black and White" on Netflix was a necessary project and needs to be seen. Key Glock's "Yellow Tape 2" was wayyyy better than expected, and believe it or not, so was Limp Bizkit's latest "Still Sucks", no cap. GZA's "Liquid Swords" still stands up 26 years after it was released (11/7/95). Music ("Stand Tall") by Keep Right, featuring Zai McKinney.

Penn St shouldn't be allowed to be good for at least another fucking decade. Yep. Latest in RoommateGate and how Jada needs to do right by Willie from Philly. "Stankonia" and "The Dynasty: Roc La Familia" were released on the same day (10/31/00) and both still stand the test of time! Music ("Thank God Remix") by Chip The Ripper featuring Mo P. Happy Halloween 🎃!!!

I don't like conniving snake niggas. I abhor them. How can you expect people to keep it real with you when you can't even keep it real with yourself?! Make it make sense. Going Across The Lines with Slim Shady and Larry the Legend. Music ("Sinners") by Ryme Skeem.

  • Over The Culture: October 10th, 2021 (Boogie Sundays)

100th Episode, no biggie.  For 100 weeks, Over The Culture has published an episode, and to say I'm not proud of such a feat would be a lie.  Thank you to anyone who's been listening this whole time, and here's to 100 more!!!  Dave Chappelle once again proves why he's the GOAT of stand up comedy with his latest Netflix special "Closer."  HBO Max added the docuseries "The Way Down: God, Greed, and the Cult of Gwen Shamblin, and it's very eye opening to say the least.  Currensy and Alchemist release their latest ("Still Stoned on Ocean" and "This Thing of Ours 2," respectively).  Boogie Nights premiered in theaters on this day (10/10) in '97 and it was an all around great production, in every facet.  Music ("It's Raining" and "Ride Wit Us") by Ryme Skeem.

I love the rain when I'm home.  I hate the rain when I'm driving in it!  The R. Kelly Supporters and defenders are officially "The Peehive."  Can we get a Nate Dogg hologram for the Super Bowl Halftime Show, please??? OJ was found not guilty on this day in '95, and found guilty on this day in '08.  Coincidence? I think not!!!  The Deftones released their debut album "Adrenaline" on the same day OJ got acquited, and nowadays that's more relevant than anything OJ, imo.  Music ("Good Position") by Jon Black.
