  • Over The Culture: September 26th, 2021 (That's not a black podcast. This IS A BLACK PODCAST!!!)

Over the week I was informed that the show isn't black enough, because I talk too much about white people...despite the fact that it focuses on pop culture in general.  Closed minds don't get fed people.  The Wonder Years re-boot is worth checking out, as well as Westside Gunn's latest "Hitler Wears Hermes 8: Side B."  "Crocodile Dundee" is the highest grossing Australian film of all time and it was released on this day in '86.  Music ("Time PT.1" & "New Age Rap Shit") by Jon Black.

  • Over The Culture: September 19th, 2021 (Great, Fellas)
Watched the movie "Blood Brothers: Malcolm X & Muhammad Ali" on Netflix, and it was disappointing how their relationship soured. The movie, however, is great. "Ryme Skeem" is now available on Spotify and other streaming platforms, and it's one of best hip hop albums of the year!!! Obviously I'm speaking with a bias, but facts are facts. "Goodfellas" is a movie that'll never get old to me. Music ("Critical") by TDF. #rymeskeem #rymeskeem #rymeskeem

  • Over The Culture: September 12th, 2021 (Wish You Were Real)

I wish people would stop claiming they "cut people off" to "find peace and grow" when in all actuality, they're the ones that got cut off!!  Go tell someone else those fake narratives.  Now that I've listened to both "Donda" and "Certified Lover Boy" in full, I can honestly say Kanye's album is better.  AZ and Twista dropped new albums ("Doe or Die II" & "Shooter Ready" respectively), and they're both FIRE.  Common's album, mehhhh not so much.  Dope freestyles tho.  The Rick James documentary "Bitchin': The Sound and Fury of Rick James" is a must watch.  He really lived a movie.  He did that shit.  "Wu Tang: An American Saga" is back on Hulu for it's second season, and I'm lovin' it.  Taxi and The Smurfs animated series both debuted on September 12th (1978 & 1981 respectively).  Pink Floyd released "Wish You Were Here" in '75, and it's their fastest selling album ever!!! Music ("Long Division") by Ryme Skeem, who's album will be dropping on 9/17, available everywhere imagineable!!! RIP Michael K. Williams!!!

  • Over The Culture: September 5th, 2021 (Certified Puppet Show)

Netflix has recently gone on a tangent of great documentaries, and most recently, "Bob Ross: Happy Accidents, Betrayal & Greed" and "Untold:Crime and Penalties" are at the top of my list.  They must be seen.  MUST.  It probably would've been better if both Drake and Kanye chopped their latest albums ("Certified Lover Boy" and "Donda", respectively) down to about half their size.  Either way, people have been listening will continue to listen, because it's Drizzy and Yeezy...especially if they're "beefin."  College football is back and got damnit, my Buckeyes better win it all this year.  Jake and his brother Logan, just might be the GOATS one day...of something.  The Muppet Show debuted on this day (9/5) in '76, and the world was never the same...AGAIN!!!  Music ("Thousand Ghosts") by Ryme Skeem. RIP Ed Asner!!!

  • Over The Culture: August 29th, 2021 (Slammin' Summa's)
This latest Mario Bros milk crate cosplay is another reminder as to why I hate people. The documentary "Mr.Soul" on HBO Max goes in depth about the life of Ellis Haizlip, who was the first black TV host in America, before Oprah, before Arsenio. Westside Gunn's album "Hitler Wears Hermes 8: Sincerely Adolf" is the newest album from the Griselda camp. Great listen, despite having a distracting title. "Donda" is finally here, and just a few tracks in, I know Kanye put his all into this project. SummerSlams '88,'92, and'94 aired on this date in their respective years, and each of them stand out for one reason or another... even if the actual event itself sucked. Music ("Say My Name") by Ryme Skeem.

If you decide to own a truck, and especially a BIG TRUCK, move/steer accordingly witcha dumbass. Lizzo is annoying and I'm sick of her crocodile tears.  Yet she remains on my timelines *sighs*.  Virgo season is upon us, and it better do right by me, because Leo season was on some straight trash homey.  Rick Hyde's "Plates II" and Dame D.O.L.L.A's "Different On Levels The Lord Allowed" are must listens for my hip-hop heads.  The GZA and The Beast both represent the intellect of their respective groups, and for GZA's birthday, I've wiped the dust off of an oldie but goodie of segments, "Across The Lines."  Music ("Ninja MC") by Steve G.  RIP Cousin Jerry!!!

Benny the Butcher's "Pyrex Picasso" and Boldy James'/The Alchemist's "Bo Jackson" are both 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. The original Woodstock event occurred on this day in '69. Music ("Usain Bolt") by Steve G. RIP Nip!!! 🙏🏿

  • Over The Culture: August 8, 2021 (Watch The Throne, Look Over The Family)
I'm back home in Ohio for a few days!!! But it's for less than great circumstances. Spending over half a day at the airport already has me over it.😩 Suicide Squad is a banger and don't allow anyone to convince you otherwise. Melo has joined forces with Bron, Brodie, and The Brow and they're on the prowl. Spike Lee's directorial debut "She's Gotta Have It" premiered in '86, Metallica and Guns N' Roses sparked a riot in Montreal in '92, on the same day The Dream Team took home the gold!!! 🥇Jay and Ye dropped "Watch The Throne" in '11, and the world needs a sequel. Music ("Sometimes I Lose My Mind") by Ryme Skeem and Ron J. RIP Grandpa! I love you and miss you!!! 🙏🏿🥺
