In 1st John, through the blood of Jesus Christ, we are overcomers. We arose a new man in Christ. We arose as an overcomer. Through Christ’s victory, I too overcome, after being put into Christ – I moved from being a sinner to being an overcomer. I have been purchased by the blood of Jesus. God wants us to overrule difficult situations, and not have them overrule us. God wants us to experience what it means to be an everyday overcomer. If you are going to be one who prevails, there must be a link between our current state and our legal standing. Redeemed, but living in bondage? We have the legal right to be free. We must see Jesus differently than we have before. The devil has no authority – all he has is deception. Jesus took the authority from the devil at Calvary.

We must relate to the risen Christ.
