Welcome back to the first episode of the new year!

We’re starting off 2025 with a tribute to one of the most influential women in my life. Janet Holmes, lovingly called Sis. Jan, served as the First Lady of First Pentecostal Church of North Little Rock for 42 years. This episode is being released in honor of her birthday on January 7th. December 31, 2024, marked 10 years since her sudden passing at only 66 years of age. Yet, the impact of her life and the legacy she left behind continue to influence generations.

The recording featured in this podcast is from a semester of classes she taught to the ladies of FPCNLR during our Personal Growth series in 2010. This episode includes the second class of that series, where she taught from the book “A Wife After God’s Own Heart” by Elizabeth George.

To those who never had the chance to meet her, it’s hard to fully express how prayerful, godly, and precious she was. But I can say this: my life is forever changed because of her, and I am deeply grateful that God allowed me to be raised under the care and example of such a godly and loving First Lady.
