People in the world who see us going through suffering or persecution and still choosing to trust Jesus, are going to want to know why. So, Peter tells us, to be ready to give an answer for the hope people see in you.

In fact, everyone that claims to follow Jesus should be able to clearly articulate why they believe in Jesus. The answer that we give must be informed, but more importantly it has to come from an attitude of gentleness and respect. Why? Because our attitude is just as important as the words, we use to tell people about Jesus.
