It is time to buckle up! Joining us this week is Tim Blake Nelson who absolutely kills it in his new film, Old Henry, which is out in theaters Friday Oct. 8th. But, we're also here to talk about the controversial, shocking, and diverse Gaspar Noe film, Irreversible. If you're unaware of what happens in Irreversible, here is your trigger warning for talk about violence and sexual assault.
Part 2 of our Lady of the Manor coverage is here. Brothers, Co-writers, and Co-directors Christian and Justin Long are here and we have a lot to talk about. There was a lot of films that inspired the brothers in creating their debut feature length comedy, but one film stands above them all, the 1991 Bill Murray/Richard Dreyfuss comedy, What About Bob? This was one lovely conversation that could have went on for hours and hours.
The hits just keep on coming. This week we were lucky enough to have the amazing Melanie Lynskey in the store to talk about her new film, Lady of the Manor and the 2011 Tom McCarthy written and directed, Win Win. Since we had Melanie on hand, we of course couldn't help but ask a few questions about Heavenly Creatures, but since we already have a full episode about the film...we kept it short.
We unfortunately had a a few tech issues at the start of the interview, but it all worked out in the end.
The man, the myth, the legend, Richard E. Grant is with us to discuss his new film, Everybody's Talking About Jamie--which premiered on Amazon Prime, Friday, September 17th. Also on tap, is this week's overdue rental-- Warlock, which Richard starred in across from Julian Sands in the late 80s/early 90s. And yes, don't worry, there is plenty of Classic Loki talk to be had. Listen in for a great discussion with a true master of the art of acting.
Note: Thank you to our friend Joey Magidson for helping with this week's thumbnail. The video portion of this interview was corrupted, so we needed to grab the image from his talk with Mr. Grant. You can see that talk over at Awardsradar.com.

Among the general topic of film noir, we are also focusing on the classic noir thriller, Silent Partner which stars Elliot Gould and Christopher Plummer. The Silent Partner is a true masterpiece that many people still have not discovered. Make sure you catch it and join us as we discuss the film and its legacy.
Strap in Overdue Rentals fans, you're in for one fun ride today. Marguerite Moreau dropped into the shop to talk about her new film, Monuments and also discuss the 1998 Barry Levinson star studded political satire, Wag the Dog. After this episode, we're starting a fundraiser so we can pay to have Marguerite join us every week. What a fantastic chat with a wonderful guest. Please enjoy, and check out Monuments and Wag the Dog, if you haven't already.
It's simply amazing that Alan Parker's 1991 masterpiece, The Commitments, is not talked about now, as much as it was when it was released. We have Jimmy O. of JoBlo.com with us to reminisce over this nugget of pure joy from 1991. Get ready to sing along, as once you start talking about The Commitments, you too will be committed to singing your soul out!
This week, we're talking about the late 1900s classic from writer/director Tom Tykwer, Run Lola Run. Our good friend, Alec Kubas-Meyer of The Week I Review is with us to discuss this stylistic German film that took the world by storm upon its release. Enjoy the discussion and let us know about your Run Lola Run memories.
