Overdue Rentals

This week, we are joined by Jon Amiel; the director of Matthew's favorite film of all time...The Singing Detective (1986). This utter masterpiece penned by the brilliant Dennis Potter, only aired in the US, once! Jon took some time to discuss with us his relationship to the project and Dennis Potter, all the ins-and-outs of creating such a sprawling work of art, and all those special little details that went into the casting and production of a film that too many people still need to see.

Note: When you ultimately go to look up information on this film, make sure you are not looking at the 2003 re-make starring Robert Downey Jr. Make sure you are looking at the film from 1986, starring Michael Gambon.

This week we are joined by Robert Wuhl, start of the 1992 comedy/drama, Mistress (written and directed by Barry Primus). Strap in for a wonderful chat that covers this film, as well as many other facets of the industry. Robert Wuhl is full of stories, and he shared a lot of great memories with us. Enjoy!

We are joined by filmmaker Ben Wheatley to talk about his 2011 shocker, Kill List, as well as his brand new film, In the Earth. In the Earth is now in theaters, check it out if you can. Kill List is also available on The Criterion Channel and available to rent on all home services.

Oh, hello there. I see you've found your way to our podcast and want to know all about us. Well, listen to this short introductory episode to see what we're all about.
