  • Summer26: His Church His People

What makes a church a church?

It isn't simply the organization, the preaching, the worship, the facilities, or the ministries. It's the people.

We are the people of God, and we follow Jesus together.

In this Vision Sunday message, Pastor Josh shares the heart of Overflow Church: Jesus being glorified and people encountering the reality of Jesus.

We believe the presence of Jesus should permeate everything we do. We believe in family, honor, the power of the Holy Spirit, and generosity. And we believe that what God puts in us was never intended to stop with us.

    The river is flowing.

The question is: What is your next step?

    Presence. Family. Honor. Power. Generosity.

Overflow Church exists to bring people to an encounter with the reality of Jesus.

  • Summer26: Leaving a Legacy | Pastor Aaron Guthrie

What kind of legacy are you building?

Our lives are about more than the years between our birth and death. Scripture teaches that what we build on the foundation of Jesus has eternal significance.

In this message, Pastor Aaron Guthrie explores three practical ways to build a lasting legacy:
    • Invest in the Kingdom
    • Invest in Your Family
    • Invest in Others

Your greatest inheritance won't be your possessions—it will be the faith, love, and impact you leave behind.

    Scripture:
    • 1 Corinthians 3:10-14
    • John 14:12-14
    • Matthew 6:33

  • Summer26: Shhh | Pastor Adam McCain

Have you ever wondered why the angel Gabriel responded so strongly to Zechariah's doubt?

In Luke 1, Zechariah receives incredible news: after years of waiting, he and Elizabeth will have a son who will prepare the way for the Messiah. But instead of responding with faith, Zechariah responds with doubt. Gabriel's response wasn't simply about one question—it revealed the importance of trusting God's promises and His perfect timing.

In this message, guest speaker Pastor Adam McCain from Hill City Church and Overseer of Global Ministers Network shares practical wisdom for anyone waiting on God.

    You'll discover how to:
Trust God's timing instead of your own.
Stop trying to control the "how" and "when."
Remain faithful while God develops your character.
Refuse to make villains out of people you think are in your way.
Guard your words so they align with God's promises.
Even when God's timing doesn't make sense, His promises will come true at the proper time.

    Scripture: Luke 1:5–20 (NIV)

  • Summer26: A Tale of Two Gospels | Aaron Escamilla

What if the gospel is about more than meeting the minimum requirements for entering heaven?

In Mark 1:14–15, Jesus announced that the Kingdom of God had come near. His invitation was not simply to believe something that would affect us after we die, but to rethink the way we live today because God’s Kingdom is available to us through Him.

Our friend  Aaron Escamilla from New Community Church explores the difference between a gospel focused primarily on managing sin and the good news of God’s Kingdom. Jesus invites us to put our confidence in Him and partner with God in bringing the reality of heaven into the places, relationships, and situations directly in front of us.

    This week, pause and pray:

“Yahweh, Your Kingdom come, and Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”

Then ask the Holy Spirit, “How can I partner with You in bringing heaven to earth this week?” Be ready to do what He says.

  • Summer26: Freely Give | Moriah Brown

In this message, Overflow Kids Director Moriah Brown shares a powerful word on forgiveness from Matthew 18:21–35. Jesus teaches that those who have received mercy are called to freely give mercy to others.

Forgiveness is not ignoring pain or pretending nothing happened. It is recognizing our grief, releasing the right to avenge, and giving it all to the Lord. Culture may try to define justice on its own terms, but there is one Judge higher than all, and He calls His people to reflect His love, mercy, and righteousness.

Because we have been forgiven by God, we are called to forgive others from the heart.

    Scriptures referenced:
    Matthew 18:21–35
    Matthew 5:43–48
    Matthew 10:8
    1 John 4:19
    Romans 12:19

  • The Source: The Unexpected King | John 12:12-50

In John 12:12–50, Jesus enters Jerusalem as King, but not the kind of king many expected. The crowd welcomed Him with palm branches and shouts of “Hosanna,” hoping for a political deliverer who would overthrow Rome and restore national power. But Jesus came riding on a donkey, revealing a different kind of Kingdom.

Jesus is the humble King, the gathering King, the glorified King, and the revealing King. He did not come to conquer by taking life, but by laying His life down. The victory the crowd wanted came through conquest, but the victory Jesus brought came through the cross.

As we finish “The Source” section of John’s Gospel, we see that Jesus is the Source of ultimate victory. He conquers sin, death, and darkness through His sacrifice, and He invites us to believe, follow, and walk in the light.

  • The Source: The Fragrance That Fills the House | John 12:1–11 |

In John 12:1–11, Jesus returns to Bethany, where Lazarus is alive, Martha is serving, and Mary pours out costly perfume at the feet of Jesus. Her worship was pure, costly, broken, poured out, and it filled the house with fragrance.

But not everyone celebrated her offering. Judas criticized what he could not understand, calling her worship wasteful. Jesus defended Mary and revealed that her extravagant act was preparing Him for burial.

This message, “The Fragrance That Fills the House,” calls us to examine the worship we bring to Jesus. Is it convenient, controlled, and consumer-driven, or is it costly, surrendered, and poured out in love?

When Jesus is truly treasured, worship changes the atmosphere.

  • The Source: The Resurrected Life | John 11

In John 11, Jesus raises Lazarus from the dead and reveals one of the most powerful “I Am” statements in the Gospel of John: “I am the resurrection and the life.” This message from The Source series looks at the seventh public sign in John’s Gospel and shows how the resurrection of Lazarus points to the authority of Jesus over death, the hope of eternal life, and the freedom He brings to those who believe.

Before Jesus raises Lazarus, He delays, He weeps, and He enters the grief of Mary and Martha. This passage reminds us that Jesus is not distant from our pain, but He is also not defeated by it. He is the Source of life, and when He calls our name, dead things come alive.

In this sermon, Pastor Josh Brown teaches through John 11 and explores what it means to live the resurrected life. The resurrected life is not only about a future resurrection; it is about hope, freedom, and new life in Christ right now. Jesus does not simply promise resurrection someday. He is resurrection and life today.

If you are walking through grief, delay, disappointment, fear, or spiritual bondage, this message will encourage you to believe again. Lazarus walked out of the tomb still wrapped in grave clothes, and Jesus told the people around him, “Unbind him, and let him go.” In Christ, we are raised to life and called into freedom.

Join us as we continue The Source series through the Gospel of John and discover how Jesus is the living water, the bread of life, the light of the world, the good shepherd, and the resurrection and the life.

  • The Source: The Door & The Shepherd | John 10

In John 10, Jesus declares, “I am the door” and “I am the good shepherd.” He is not only the entrance into salvation; He is the Shepherd who protects, provides, leads, knows His sheep, and lays down His life for them.

This message looks at the promise of abundant life, the danger of false shepherds, and the security of belonging to Jesus. The abundant life is not found by climbing over the wall or following strangers. It is found by entering through Christ and following the voice of the Good Shepherd.
