Often situations are not as they seem.  We should be slow to judge on first impressions.  I was wrong when I judged the mean ol' lady at the airport.

We tend to forget the gifts we have received and the promises we have made; however, we are quick to recount the offenses we have suffered at the hands of others.  What makes us promise God something if He will only do this or that?  What makes it so difficult for us to sit down and count our blessings?  Why are we able to forget the 99 good things a person has done well and cling to, illuminate, and exaggerate the one wrong they have committed.

When I see a sign that says WET Paint--I usually have to check it out.  After all, how do I know it is wet?  When did they paint?  I have to check.

Is the growing number of minors identifying as transgender a result of:

1.      A safe environment is now available.

2.      Minors going through typical confusion are encouraged to identify as transgender by peers, media, and their own feelings.  This halts the natural tendency to trend back to the biologically assigned sex.

3.      How much of the influence on minors is extrinsic vs. intrinsic? 

I don’t have the answers or the research; however, I would suggest all three are contributing to the rise in Transgender Identity.

I believe the church is far behind on ministry in this area and seems to fear bringing it up.   This must change if we are to reach this diverse community we call the United States.

All of us have moods.  Good and Bad moods.  Sometimes the personality of your church or pastor can affect those moods.  A pastor with a Disney land view of the world or a pastor that sees demons everywhere will have an impact on your mood.  Pastors should be balanced to create a healthy mood in lives.  We will discuss this very issue on the ESP Podcast.

All of us deal with our prejudices.  Often we judge people based upon outward appearance.  This episode helps us realize that even the Apostle Peter and the Apostle Paul were prejudice at times.  It also challenges us to improve.

A common cliche among Christians is  Love the Sinner, Hate the Sin, or Love the Person, hate the sin. Yes, I have used that phrase in the past.  Is this a Biblical statement?  Is it possible?  Is it probable?  Is it right?  Love the sinner/person; hate the sin.  The sinner here would be defined as a person who has not come to faith in Christ.

Let's think about this for a moment.  Do we have the ability to separate sin from the person?  How can we hate a person's character and love the person?  Can we genuinely love the person with an asterisk?  What sins are we to hate in the other person?  Sins we don't commit or all sins?  Sins shouted from the rooftop or sins secretly held in the heart?  Love the Person--Hate the Sin--Really?
