In Revelation 1:9–16, John reminds us that belonging to Christ's kingdom does not mean escaping tribulation—it means enduring through it with Christ. In the midst of the lampstands, John sees Jesus: our great High Priest who knows our weakness, cares for His church, and remains present with His people.

The vision of Christ reveals that He is everything His church needs. He sees with perfect clarity, rules over His enemies, holds His church securely, and speaks with the authority of truth. When suffering and tribulation come, our hope is not found in our own strength, but in the risen and reigning Christ who is with us, cares for us, and gives us strength to endure.

In Revelation 1:4–8, John reminds the church that our hope rests in the God who is, who was, and who is to come. He is the God of all history—never caught off guard, never forced to improvise, and always working according to His redemptive purposes.

Through the resurrection of Jesus, the dawn of the last days has arrived. Christ is the firstborn from the dead and the ruler of the kings of the earth. Though we still experience suffering, sin, and oppressive powers, none of them are outside His sovereign rule. Jesus reigns now, and the day is coming when His victory will be fully revealed.

And until that day, Christ has made His church a kingdom of priests—not simply to be, but to do. The church has been called to go into the world, faithfully revealing the unexpected beauty of a life committed to Christ.

God is the God of our past, present, and future. Because He has been faithful throughout history, we can trust Him with what lies ahead.

In the opening verses of Revelation, we are reminded that this book is not meant to leave the Church fearful or confused, but hopeful and faithful. God has revealed the end so that His people can trust Him through every trial, knowing that suffering is real but it is not the end of the story.

In Revelation 1:1–3, John pronounces a blessing on those who read, hear, and keep the words of this prophecy. Because Christ has revealed where history is going, His Word should shape the way we see everything—our suffering, grief, faithfulness, and hope. Though the Church may experience tribulation and at times feel like sheep led to the slaughter, we know with certainty that Christ will return, His kingdom will prevail, and nothing can separate His people from His love.

The future of the Church is bright because our future is Christ Himself. So will we allow the promises of God to shape our worldview and everyday lives, or will we live according to the kingdom of this world? Read, hear, and keep—because the time is near.

As Genesis comes to a close, Joseph looks back on a life marked by both suffering and flourishing and declares with confidence that God has been at work through it all. What others meant for evil, God meant for good—and nothing was wasted. In Genesis 50, we're reminded that God will accomplish all that He has promised. Like Joseph and Jacob, Christians can live with confidence in the midst of suffering because we already know the end: Christ has conquered, resurrection is coming, and God will surely bring His people home.

In Genesis 48–49, Jacob's blessings reveal a recurring pattern in God's redemptive plan: the second is placed before the first. From Abel and Isaac to Ephraim and Manasseh, these reversals point beyond themselves to the hope of a better life through Christ. Jesus, the promised Lion of Judah, is the eternal King who defeats His enemies, restores what sin has broken, and brings His people into the abundance of a new Eden. Until that day, we wait patiently and place our hope in Him, trusting that the life to come is far better than the fallen life we know now.

Today on our Genesis series, we follow Jacob's journey into Egypt as God fulfills His promises in unexpected ways. Though Jacob settles in the best land Egypt has to offer, he never forgets that it is not his true home. In this episode, Pastor Matt explores how the life of faith is marked by living as strangers in this world while longing for the better country God has prepared. Together we'll see that what believers willingly forsake for Christ will be restored beyond imagination when Christ returns, and why Jacob's final request to be buried in the Promised Land points beyond Canaan to the hope of new creation. As Christians, we don't merely bury our dead—we plant them in hope, trusting that what is sown in weakness will be raised in glory. This passage challenges us to live today with eternity in view, investing not in what fades, but in what has eternal value.

Genesis 42–45 shows Joseph's brothers confronting their sin, Judah offering himself in sacrifice, and Joseph extending mercy instead of judgment. Their story points us to Christ, whose sacrifice brings forgiveness and reconciliation to guilty sinners.

This Sunday, we continued our journey through Genesis in chapters 40–41 as we followed Joseph from the prison to Pharaoh's palace. Through forgotten promises, unexpected delays, and God's perfect timing, we are reminded that the God who determines the end also directs every step along the way. Because God is sovereign over every detail, we can remain faithful in the present, knowing our future is secure in Christ. Pastor Matt also explores the danger of pride, showing that when trust in God's providence ends, self-reliance begins. This Sunday, we landed in Genesis 39 and looked at Joseph and Potiphar's wife. Even when Joseph's life did not seem to be unfolding positively, he responded to the goodness of the Lord with faith. In the same way, Christ was faithful in both abundance and suffering so that His righteousness might become ours. Joseph reminds us that whatever our lot, Christ has taught us to say, "It is well with my soul."

Yesterday, we landed in Genesis 37–38, covering the accounts of Joseph being sold into slavery and the story of Tamar and Judah. These texts remind us that even when we cannot see God at work, He is still working. In both the life of the sufferer, Joseph, and the life of the guilty, Judah, we see that the Lord is in control and has already written the final chapter.
