We want to further reflect on Genesis 23. While much of our focus was on the transaction surrounding Sarah's burial—the purchase of the cave—we didn't fully explore the deeper shape of the gospel woven into this text.
God is the sovereign King over all things, and the aim of all redemption history is this: that His people would behold His face. This is the grand storyline of Scripture.
Abraham's purchase of the cave was not merely a practical act, but a profound expression of faith. He trusted that God's promises extended beyond his lifetime—that they were secure, certain, and would ultimately be fulfilled for all who come to saving faith through Jesus.
