In today's summer REWIND series we are revisiting our conversation with Daniel Darling! An esteemed author, pastor, and Christian leader, Daniel currently serves as the Director of The Land Center for Cultural Engagement at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and as an Assistant Professor of Faith and Culture at Texas Baptist College.
In today's conversation, we delve into an important question of how Christians should engage with politics. Join us as we discuss the relationship Christians should have with politics.
Pastor Matt taught through Genesis 34 yesterday and covered much of the text in depth. One question that came up was why all the men in the town would agree to be circumcised in order to marry the women of Jacob's family.
Listen today as Pastor Matt unpacks this question and helps us better understand what is happening in this difficult passage.
This summer, we're re-releasing some of your favorite episodes from over the years. In this Summer Rewind episode, we welcome Jared Lawson, Lead Pastor at The Parkway Church in McKinney, TX.
Listen as Jared and our staff discuss the topic of theology and why studying the depths of Scripture changes the way we see God. As we behold His beauty more clearly, our view of Him will never be the same.
Pastor Stephen taught through Genesis 32–33 yesterday. Today, Pastor Matt takes a deeper look at Jacob's wrestling with God, exploring several important aspects of the text that we didn't have time to cover. Listen in today!
Pastor Stephen taught through Genesis 32–33, where Jacob's life reminds us that Christians often move forward with a limp—marked by weakness, yet sustained by God's grace. Even in our struggles, we hold fast to the hope we have in Christ, our sure and steadfast anchor, who faithfully carries us to the end.
This summer, we're revisiting some of your favorite episodes from the past in our new REWIND series.
We're kicking things off with The One About the Trinity, featuring special guest Dr. Luke Stamps. Dr. Stamps serves as Associate Professor of Christian Studies at Anderson University and holds a doctorate in Philosophy and Systematic Theology from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Join Dr. Stamps and Pastor Matt as they explore the doctrine of the Trinity, why it matters for every Christian, and how a deeper understanding of God's triune nature shapes our faith and worship. Whether you're hearing this conversation for the first time or revisiting it years later, this episode offers a helpful and accessible look at one of the most foundational truths of the Christian faith.
Yesterday we worked through the end of Genesis 30 and most of Genesis 31. One section we didn't have time to fully address was the covenant Laban made with Jacob at the end of chapter 31. By this point, Laban had effectively lost everything he had sought to gain through his own efforts and manipulation.
This scene provides a helpful picture of the contrast between the City of Man and the City of God. Laban's life reflects the pursuit of earthly gain, self-interest, and security apart from God, while Jacob's story highlights God's covenant faithfulness despite human weakness and failure. The passage ultimately points us beyond this present age and toward the final outcome of history: those who build their lives upon the City of Man will find that their pursuits cannot endure, while those who belong to Christ will inherit the promises of God and the blessings of His eternal kingdom.
We know we said last week was the final episode of Talks on the Road for the season, but after receiving so many questions about the weekly reading plan we provide for our church family and D-Groups, we decided to record one more episode before taking a break for the summer. If you've been curious about what we're reading through together as a church or maybe you're confused about how to interpret the text, this conversation is great to listen to. Join Pastor Matt and our Student Minister, Jack Blakely, as they walk through the Scriptures and discuss how these readings should be interpreted and applied.

This week on Unsaid on Sunday, we see the birth and naming of Jacob's sons, where even their names reveal a theological progression unfolding before us. Through the line of Judah, we begin to see the foreshadowing of God's covenant promises and the coming Messianic King. Leah's heart also undergoes a transformation as she shifts from longing for the praise of others to praising Yahweh Himself. Listen as this passage displays both trust and affection rightly placed in the Lord, reminding us that our lives are meant to be built upon Him.
