Ever wonder how entrepreneurs really fund their visions? In this candid conversation, Ashley Bridges pulls back the curtain on business financing, blending her decade of experience in the financial sector with her current work at Intend Indiana. She explains how traditional banks often overlook entrepreneurs that Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) are built to serve, offering flexible, relationship-based lending. Her perspective is refreshingly practical—challenging the stigma around loans and reframing them as smart investments in growth rather than burdens. Ashley also underscores the essentials of financial literacy: separating business and personal accounts, tracking cash flow consistently, and building systems that position entrepreneurs for long-term sustainability.
But what makes Ashley’s story stand out is how she balances money talk with real life. Beyond numbers and loans, she shares her journey as a community leader, wife, and mom of two teenagers—keeping it honest about ambition, family dinners, and even her guilty pleasure of reality TV. Her message is both financial and deeply personal: where you came from doesn’t dictate where you’re going. Whether you’re just starting out, seeking growth capital, or simply curious about how successful entrepreneurs fund their dreams, this episode gives you both the technical know-how and the mindset shifts needed to turn vision into reality.

The content creation landscape is shifting dramatically, with AI tools generating more content than ever while major platforms expand their offerings. This shifts the fundamental question for business owners from "should I create content?" to "how can my content stand out in an increasingly crowded digital world?"
In this special episode of Own Your Brand Show, I'm joined by my son Trevor for a cross-generational conversation about content strategy in 2025. Trevor brings fresh Gen Alpha insights as we explore how content creators must adapt to an environment where everyone—including artificial intelligence—is producing content at unprecedented rates. We discuss a YouTube channel completely run by AI, from video creation to comment responses, highlighting the growing need for human authenticity in content.
The conversation takes fascinating turns as we reveal how Walmart has installed content creation studios in their stores and Netflix is launching a dedicated video podcast section. These moves by corporate giants underscore content's central role in modern business and entertainment. For business owners, this means generic content no longer cuts through the noise—your strategy must be intentional, consistent, and authentically you.
We delve into finding the right content format that matches your natural communication style, the importance of strategic planning versus random posting, and why human connection remains your strongest differentiator in an AI-driven world. As Trevor notes, even top creators like Mr. Beast understand that personal elements in content create engagement that artificial intelligence simply cannot replicate.
Whether you're just starting your content journey or looking to refine your existing strategy, this conversation offers practical insights on creating content that builds your business rather than adding to the digital noise. Subscribe to the Own Your Brand Show for more conversations that help you develop content that converts and authentically represents your brand in this rapidly evolving digital landscape.

From Burnout to Burgundy Red: India Brown’s Bold Leap from Corporate to CEO
What happens when the corporate ladder you’re climbing no longer leads to fulfillment?
For India Brown—CEO of PMPHASE Consulting Firm—the answer came after 13 years in healthcare IT. Despite promotions, raises, and external validation, something vital was missing. “That’s the moment I chose fulfillment over familiarity,” she shares in this candid and inspiring conversation about redefining success through entrepreneurship.
But the leap wasn’t easy.
Armed with an MBA and deep expertise in project management, India still found herself unprepared for the realities of business ownership. Her first two years were financially devastating—what she describes as “burgundy red.” The cause? A costly gap in business acumen, especially in contract negotiation and cash flow management. “I was flying out weekly, paying expenses upfront, and waiting 45 days for reimbursement,” she recalls—an all-too-common scenario for professionals assuming that technical skills equal business success.
India’s turning point came through mentorship and mindset. She transitioned from working in the business to operating as its CEO—rebranding to PMPHASE, building operational systems, and learning to delegate with intention. Today, five years later, her company is thriving and expanding into new markets.
Most powerful of all? India’s commitment to lifting others as she rises.
Through her CEO mindset programs, board leadership with organizations like Pass the Torch, and grassroots community sponsorships, she equips emerging entrepreneurs with the tools she once lacked. Her message is clear: technical skills are important, but sustainable success demands strategic thinking, mentorship, and honest self-assessment.
