Everyone grieves in different ways. In this episode, I spoke to Mia Sumiati on losing both her parents within 6 months. I came across Mia's post randomly on Instagram, paying tribute to her mother's 7 months and father's 7 days passing. The Drugs Don't Work by The Verve was the first line of her post with a picture of her parents in their younger days in black and white. I felt called to read her writings on the instagram carousel she made. It was so beautifully written with so much love, rawness and vulnerability that I knew, even in her sadness, this have to come from someone with courage and strength. She described briefly of her relationships with both her parents even the hard bit. And all of them came from acceptance, compassion and respect.
