These days, my fingers don’t always do what I tell them to.
Living with Heberden’s nodes—
it hurts, but sometimes all you can do is laugh.
If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone.

Do you ever struggle with What if questions?
In this episode, I talk about how to deal with What if questions
that often come up in impromptu speaking and "Table Topics".
You don’t need a perfect answer.
You don’t need to be realistic.
What matters is just saying something in English.
I share a simple idea:
keeping answers you think of later in the back of your mind
until the next chance you get to speak.
You’ll also hear a couple of casual sample Q&As
and my own experience as a learner.
If you tend to overthink and freeze when speaking English,
I hope this episode helps you feel a little more relaxed
and enjoy the practice.

Long after their parents had passed away,
two siblings came to realize that their late father was remembered in completely opposite ways by different people.
This episode reflects on how misunderstandings are created,
how they quietly grow over time,
and how a person’s reputation can change depending on perspective, distance,
and whose story is told—and heard.
Perhaps, without realizing it, we all become someone in other people’s stories.

and rediscover why we love Higashino’s world so much.

Life has its moments.
Three small encounters from this year.
Nothing dramatic.
Just moments that stayed with me.

In this episode, I talk about an important tip for Spotify Podcasters: choosing opening and closing music that won’t get your episode blocked or removed.
It’s not about whether the music is catchy — it’s about avoiding copyright issues.
I share my own experience of having my episode mistakenly taken down, filing an appeal, and getting it restored. I also touch on how even “copyright-free” tracks from the YouTube Audio Library can still violate podcast platform policies.
If your episode suddenly gets removed, don’t panic — appealing really matters.
And remember: even if something is labeled “copyright-free,” it may not be allowed on third-party platforms, so it’s important to read the terms carefully.
It’s a short episode, but especially helpful for fellow podcasters.
Hope you enjoy it. Ciao!

「Name it, tame it.」――気持ちに名前をつけて、少し楽になるヒントもシェアしています。

At 18, I walked away, feeling ashamed that I couldn’t speak English. Nearly 40 years later, I finally stepped into the world of English. Today, I want to share something with you—especially if you're standing still, hesitating in front of English, just like I once did.

I’m learning to listen to my body, to my heart — and I’m learning to speak from both, even in a new language.
I can talk about this calmly now because I’m feeling fine, but honestly, if I were to lose my sight or develop vision problems, I know I’d panic.
But when that happens, I remind myself that even if it only affects one in ten or twenty thousand people, I’m not alone. Others out there are surely finding their own ways to live and enjoy their lives—and I try to keep that in mind.
