Gabrielle Miller has been dipping her hands in several artistic pies over her colourful career as a performer and actress. Based in Berlin but often on the road with her jazz trio 'Zap' Gabrielle is one very busy talent... a trained theatre actress, accomplished tap dancer and voice over artist (to name a few). We cover this as well as her recent notoriety as the face of Trivago and her future in the film biz.

GG creates lo-fi electro-pop in with powerful layered vocals. GG’s on a mission to charm and disarm her audiences. Her experimental folk-pop serves up stories of transcontinental loss and love.

GG grew up between the fringes of a national park, circus school, and the folk festival circuit in Australia. Now Berlin-based for over three years, she released her debut EP 'Show Me' in 2017 and is currently touring back in Oz for the summer.

Adelaide born Peter Scollin is probably Berlin's longest standing Aussie expat... or that we could find! Arriving in Berlin a whopping 35 years ago Peter and his German wife Anja founded the Platypus Theater in 1985, which is still Germany's premiere independent English language theatre focused on theatre for youth and education. Also a busy voice over artist and performer, Peter has seen the many changes that have happened in Berlin over the last three decades which makes for some very interesting stories!

You may have seen Tania Lacy on the Aussie small screen in the 80s and 90s as a dancer, television presenter, actor and comedian. Now Berlin-based and an accomplished children's author we were more than excited to get Tania on the couch to hear how her career has unfolded and her take on creative life in Berlin.

Ben King landed in Berlin with his band Expatriate almost a decade ago. At the peak of its success and with tours around Europe in the years that followed Berlin quickly became the band's ideal base. In the years post- Expatriate, Ben has continued working with music and sound engineering. We talk with him about his experience inside the music industry, creative control and his part in a new creative collective called Neon Nursery, an audio-visual contact creation company.

Another native of Sydney's East, Madeleine White made the move to Berlin in 2014 and has since become very active in a number of artistic pursuits and communities in the city. A gifted creative artist and self-described "Aktionkünstler" Maddy has been working as performance artist and singer and is also heavily involved in Berlin's growing Butoh Dance scene. In addition she is teaching improv / yoga a Kreuzberg Yoga (including monthly kink yoga classes!) Madeleine is definitely one of Berlin's most interesting and curious Aussie creatives!

Born and raised in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs, Krisana Locke has lived in every corner of the globe, from Africa and India to Chile and New York. Now based in Berlin since 2007, she co-founded the English theatre company Play2C which has staged a number of productions. She is also the co-founder of Osho Studio in Kreuzberg, a unique meditation space which offers a number of active meditation courses and workshops. As a therapist, Krisana works with private clients using breath, family constellations, bioenergetics and tantric energetics.

Damien Warren-Smith is an Aussie actor, comedian, improv performer, clown and (obviously) a popular spin-cycle instructor! During his time in Berlin Damien was a regular on stage at the Comedy Cafe Berlin performing stand-up and devised theatre, which has recently taken him back to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. We managed to grab Damo for a cuppa before his move back to the UK where he is continuing his work on his latest project "Hamlette" which comes to Berlin this November!

Frances Hill is the co-director of Down Under Berlin: Australian and New Zealand Film Festival. In its seventh year the festival is becoming a much anticipated film event in the city. With the support of both embassies as well as local media, the program this year is one not to miss! (Especially because Mala's short film will feature!)
