Today on the 5: Wired posted an article with a headline that grabbed my attention regarding the future of Star Wars. After reading it, I think maybe there is some bit of hope for my interest in new material from this franchise.

Today on the 5: California lawmakers are advancing a bill that would require companies like Google and Meta to share some of the profits they make from news based advertising with local news outlets. The bill aims to salvage local news businesses, but even in a best case scenario I'm not sure it will do all that much good.

Today on the 5: For an upcoming episode of Len Kabasinski's movie podcast, I watched a 2001 action film called US Seals 2. I had never heard of this movie before, and based on the cover art would likely never have watched it. That mistake has since been rectified!

Today on the 5: Over the weekend I finished Frankenstein Unbound, the book that was adapted into the 1990 film I reviewed recently. For a long while reading the book, I thought it was going to be a solid but unremarkable experience. Then the last 25% of the book slammed into me like a freight train and made me change my estimation of it.
