Today on the 5: Late last week I saw a documentary on The Crtierion Channel titled Goodbye Horses: The Many Lives of Q Lazzarus that looked interesting, so I decided to take a chance on it. It turned out to be a truly moving story about an artist that deserved a bigger spotlight in life.

Today on the 5: Over the holidays I came across this Verge article making the case that the term "podcast" should be retired. Not only do I think the argument the author is making is weak to beign with, but the second half of the piece contradicts the entire idea!

If you only heard the synopsis and looked at the box art, you'd probably expect a low effort junky monster movie. Instead, this is a surprisingly fun and well paced B movie about a monster that isn't really all that evil!

Today on the 5: The selection for the next episode of Stacey's Book Club over on the TWiT network is a very recent release titled The Heist Of Hollow London. It's been quite a while since I've read a book I'm this conflicted about in terms of recommending.

Today on the 5: As the final "Christmas Commentary" film for this week, we watched 1975's Deep Red, aka Profondo Rosso. I was sure I had reviewed this classic from Dario Argento before, but amazingly it doesn't seem that I had. Let's get that corrected right now!

Today on the 5: For one of our commentary films this week we watched a holiday horror classic, 1974's Black Christmas. This may surprise some listeners, but I'd never seen this movie although it's been on my watchlist for quite a while now. Having seen it, I completely agree that this one is a must see regardless of whether you watch it at the holidays or not.
