Today on the 5: Over the weekend I watched a type of movie that has slowly been going extinct. It's a mid budget crime thriller titled Canvas that is largely built around the odd pairing of Gary Busey and John Rhys-Davies. While it may not be a secret classic, I found it worth watching.
Today on the 5: Google I/O was held last week, the annual event in which many software and hardware initiatives were announced. The only thing I was genuinely curious about was the Pixel Watch. As it turns out, what interested me wasn't what they showed off but what might come in the future.
Today on the 5: The second episode of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds came out last week. I'm happy to report that the show is still delivering a great mix of classic Trek storytelling in a very pretty package.

Today on the 5: Microsoft recently announced their Adaptive Accessories initiative, which is designed to provide options for those with accessibility challenges. That's a great goal in itself, but I think these devices have potential for just about anyone.
Today on the 5: I finished the Amazon Original Series Outer Range. While I definitely felt the parallels to the German series Dark, there was still a lot to like here and I hope the show returns for a second season.
Today on the 5: Over the weekend I watched David Cronenberg's Crimes Of The Future. No, not the new one, the shorter film he made back in 1970. It was an experience.
Today on the 5: The first episode of the newest Star Trek series Strange New Worlds debuted last week. While I've been burned by first episodes in the past, this series feels like it may be able to recapture that classic Trek magic.
This week we're talking about Tokyo Vice, Slough Heroes, Fantastic 4: Rise Of The Silver Surfer, Wasteland 3, and Escape The Bronx. Show music by HeartBeatHero and OGRE. Support the show!
Today on the 5: The release of a draft opinion of the Supreme Court has resulted in a flood of feigned concern that this could damage the integrity of the Court. As others have pointed out, that concern is laughable since it's based on the idea that the Supreme Court itself is still some kind of objective body.
