Ozone Nightmare

Today on the 5: Recent comments from one of the voice actors from Star Wars Rebels makes it sound like watching that show is pretty important to the new series. If that's true, it's yet another disappointing example of companies creating highly codependent narratives in a way that makes me want to skip them altogether.

Today on the 5: I decided to take a break from movies that were deeply philosophical and open to interpretation and go for something more purely fun. I took a chance on Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts, and it turned out to be really entertaining!

Today on the 5: After watching Golem and enjoying it immensely, I immediately jumped into The War Of The Worlds: Next Century. As I expected, it was just as visually interesting and full of poltical themes as the previous film was.

Another fascinating aspect of the rush to Threads is that some of the people who jumped onto the platform are the same folks who recently decried how people expect everything for free on the internet or complained about the power of big tech. 

Today on the 5: You've likely heard about the big subscriber numbers that the newest social media platform Threads is getting. Funny that not so long ago social media was being declared dead isn't it?

Today on the 5: It sure looks like the "live service" approach to games is flaming out as fewer companies are focusing big games in that space. Ironically, I think I have an example of a game that does it right, depending on how you define it.

Today on the 5: Johnny Mnemonic got a new black and white release late last year, which I've been meaning to watch for a while. It was recently added on the Criterion Channel, so I finally watched it. Amazingly, that one change makes for a much better film.
