  • Genesis 2:19–25
    Genesis 2:19–25 | Pastor Greg
    Designed for Relationship
In this final section of Genesis 2, Pastor Greg unpacks God’s design for humanity through the lens of relationship, vocation, and worship. As the account of creation narrows from a cosmic view to the garden of Eden, we’re reminded that God made humans as body, soul, and spirit — uniquely set apart from the animal kingdom with the capacity to know and connect with Him.
Pastor Greg explores how God placed Adam in the garden with a calling to both steward creation and guard the center — a place of worship where God’s presence and authority belong. God’s command not to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil wasn’t arbitrary; it was a boundary for trust and dependence.
Then, in a moment of divine compassion and purpose, God creates Eve — not from Adam’s head or feet, but from his side — signifying partnership, equality, and mutual purpose. This passage lays the foundation for marriage and relational wholeness: two complementary people, bearing the image of God together.
Even before sin entered the world, we see that waiting, longing, and work were part of God's good design — each pointing toward a deeper fulfillment in Him. - Greg Opean - Wednesday, June 25, 2025

    Romans 7:9–25 | Pastor Ed
What I Will To Do, That I Do Not
In Romans 7, Pastor Ed walks through Paul’s deeply personal reflection on the inner battle every believer faces. Paul describes how the law, while holy and good, exposes our sinful nature and reveals our inability to overcome sin by our own strength. Even with the desire to do right, believers often find themselves trapped by the weakness of the flesh. Pastor Ed illustrates this daily struggle with temptation and the insufficiency of willpower alone. The chapter closes with Paul’s cry of frustration—“Who will deliver me from this body of death?”—immediately answered by the hope found in Jesus Christ. Victory comes not through self-effort, but through the grace and power of Christ working in us. - Ed Rea - Sunday, June 22, 2025

  • 1 Peter 3:13-17
    1 Peter 3:13–17 | Pastor Rick
    The Courage to Stand
Pastor Rick continues through 1 Peter as we are reminded that following Christ does not guarantee a life free of suffering. Instead, believers are called to sanctify Christ as Lord in their hearts, anchoring their hope in Him even when facing fear, persecution, or opposition. The early church faced intense trials under Nero’s reign, yet Peter encourages them — and us — to live with confidence, knowing that God sees, blesses, and strengthens those who suffer for doing good. As we set Christ apart in our hearts, we are called to be ready to gently and respectfully share the hope we have with others.
