Tune in to hear how the Church defines “society”, and why society is absolutely essential to our flourishing as human beings. This is the first of a 3-part miniature sermon-series on Catholic Social Teaching in conjunction with voting.
There are five common answers given to the question, "Who is Jesus of Nazareth?" Fr. Mattingly breaks down each answer, showing how two of the most commonly given are quite irrational.
Fr. Mattingly explains what the Church’s current liturgical discipline says regarding “ordinary” and “extraordinary” ministers of Holy Communion, and why the use of extraordinary ministers is limited to specific circumstances.
In the climax of Jesus’ bread of life discourse, many of his disciples leave. Fr. Mattingly looks into why some stay and some go after Jesus’ teaching on the Eucharist.
Fr. Mattingly utilizes an unusual analogy to explain how sin develops and unfolds.
Tune in for Fr. Mattingly’s homily from the Mass of the Holy Spirit for the start of the new school year for the Chesterton Academy here in Kansas City.
In today’s gospel, Jesus emphasizes over and over again that the Eucharist is necessary to have ‘life’ within us. What kind of life is he referring to? And what unique connection does the Eucharist have with this ‘life’?
Fr. Mattingly preached on the collect of today’s Mass. We ask God to “restore” what he has created. One of the things in need of restoration after original sin is our tendency to use people rather than to love them. Tune in to learn some practicals on how to avoid this tendency.
*Due to a visiting Missionary Priest preaching on Sunday, 8/11 - there will be no weekly homily from this week*
