Madelyn is Alessandra's art friend (she made the Podcast cover art!) and she is the special guest today on the show. Tune in as we pick her brain about art, scripts, inspiration, surviving your twenties, boundaries, and a whole lot more! The girls are in celebration mode as Madelyn's webcomic (go check out CRUCIBLE!!) has just been released for the world to finally see. Maggie in particular is a huge fan of Webtoons so this is quite an honor. Listeners can hear some exclusive, from-the-source tea about the storyline and character development in CRUCIBLE's universe. A gifted artist and some funny friends sure made this a great episode. Enjoy!
The technical difficulties for this episode are evident and all too real. Long distance relationships are hard ok? Maggie and Alessandra sure would know! That is why they decided to check out the local game and get on Bumble. They each discuss their reasoning behind how they set up their profiles and what they experienced the first week of having it. Maggie has some crazy stories and Alessandra recounts an unexpected surprise she received shortly after making her account. It's juicy stuff!
Maggie is back!! Listen in as she recounts her adventures while away, or if you just missed the sweet sound of her voice (we know we sure did). This episode is their catch-up phone call, but will also be highly entertaining. Maggie gives a little insight into her summer office romance, as well as her soccer player stalking tendencies…. Also, Alessandra debunks the myth that women are attracted to tall men, so you’ll definitely want to stick around for that!!
Meet Nick! He and Alessandra like to write music together and decided to share some stuff with you all (including a sneak peak at the first song they wrote!!) Nick and his sister Natalie are filling in for Maggie as she is still at college (lame). Alessandra and Nick talk music, friendships, how they met, Harry Styles, Mako Mermaids, and a lot of other random stuff. Natalie’s sarcastic narration also adds a nice touch. Enjoy eavesdropping on this convo!
Dominic and Natalie have collectively seen the entirety of the show “Avatar: The Last Airbender” more than 20 times. They claim this show has been a key factor in their friendship development. This week Alessandra interviews her brother and cousin to hear their professional opinion on the show’s relevance to real life friendships. What is so special about this show? We couldn’t possibly hold an interesting conversation about it for more than, say, an hour? You’re about to find out. Nerds are going to love it, newbies will be indoctrinated. You won’t want to miss it. Welcome to the highly anticipated ATLA episode special!!
Alessandra's brother Dominic is filling in for Maggie this week, and he is officially the first guest on the Pages podcast! He has become quite famous this season and we know you are all dying to meet him. This week's topic is about being friends with your siblings and the road it takes to get there. Alessandra and Dominic would know a thing or two about that, as they are both on the same level of weirdness and vibe quite easily. They spend the episode recounting their childhood years and what it took for them to truly grow as friends while being related to each other. Alessandra interviews Dominic and he gives some good advice for anyone who has the desire to grow a relationship with their siblings.
Woe is me! Friendships are hard in general, but do you find your childhood friendships particularly stressful? What's up with that? This episode is a quick therapy session with Maggie and Alessandra where they discuss the struggles of maintaining relationships with childhood friends in college and how to establish proper boundaries with them. No one likes to find themselves in an uncomfortable situation, and that is exactly what we try to avoid.
Social media is a controversial topic. In this episode, Alessandra and Maggie discuss their experiences and opinions about online friends. Are you really friends with someone if you only know them online? Is that a good thing? Is it bad? Tune in to hear some fun stories as the girls talk about how social media has affected their relationships when meeting new people.
Double trouble! In this episode, we analyze two myths in one go! They both have to do with the expectations of best friends and what is reasonable. (Spoiler! Lots of it really goes back to your personal responsibility). But wait! Shouldn't it be reasonable to have expectations for your best friends? Well, technically yes... and no. You'll just have to listen to see just what we mean.
Let us know on Twitter if you personally have experienced/believed a friendship myth and how that went for you.
Not that we would know anything about having a significant other these days, but we sure do have an opinion on them! But what, you may ask, could be more romantic than falling in love with your best friend? Well, we would argue, quite a few things (especially if they include boundaries and a well-rounded social life). You'll just have to listen and find out!
