Paid in Puke Podcast!

In this episode, we take a deep dive into the 1988 black comedy classic that gave us our motif: Heathers. Does Michael Lehmann's debut hold up in modern times? Find out as 12-year-old Logan Green* joins us in our new sporadic segment, Keggers with Kids. We also marvel at how a man (Daniel Waters) wrote the perfect female-driven teen comedy.

On our Lunchtime Poll, we ask what classic literature would you meaningfully mark up before committing teenage suicide (Don't do it)?

*Logan used a different name and pronouns at this time

We’re very excited to debut Paid in Puke Podcast! Jessica Baxter, Amy Green, and Cristina bar discuss femme-driven movies such as Hustlers, Set it Off, Carrie, The Craft, and, of course, Heathers! We strive for inclusive feminism and collectively call ourselves The Pukettes. Grab a Cherry Slushee and some BBQ Corn Nuts and join the fun!

In our first episode, we discuss the works of Susanna Fogel, who co-wrote Booksmart (the directorial debut of Olivia Wilde) and wrote and directed The Spy Who Dumped Me. We also wonder what's the worst song on the juke box and do people really lose their virginity to a specific song? Also, what exactly does an 83-year-old white man think of Booksmart?
