On the one hand, the world, at this stage of your life, is so big and it is much too big to grab it with your young hand. You really can’t understand what’s going on out there. But you try to - you really do.

Markus Zosel reflects on writing his song in 2020 and where it might take you when looking at it more closely.

We’re going t o talk about the song »Tina«. One, I enjoy singing every time I get the chance to. And this one is slightly different from a lot other songs, not only because it makes you feel good when singing. As a singer you always feel good when singing songs. No, it’s a kind of joy that comes along with singing this little song. That makes it special - and the audience does realise this too

In Fall 2019 I watched the news and I saw thousands of young people, mostly students of the local university, marching through the old streets of Hongkong. They were on their march for freedom of speech and a formal freedom that was guaranteed to them since the colonial days of British Hongkong. Now, I saw protest and a police that kept fighting these young kids in a way that was really hard to look at. So it began. www.markus-zosel.com

When talking about his song "Flow Ye Waters" Markus Zosel is reflecting on time itself. He says: "I have always been a miner in search of the secrets according to the way time does pass. Many people do so - I have done so all my life und I guess I always will."

I’ve never reflected myself as a special person, I never did. I just had my guitar, a piano and all the songs I wrote to play on both of them. 

I had my ideas of writing all these books and stories I've put down until this very day. But I never felt "special" - maybe just "slightly different" than others. Just a bit…
