To get along with others, whether it’s in our own family, or our community, it does take a willingness to forgive one another, as God in Christ has forgiven us.

We can’t outsource our relationship with God, and living out our faith.

What do we look for in a leader? How often do we ask for something, not realizing all that comes with it -- What do we want, not seeing all that we would get?

...you can speak the truth in love – “You look great. Those pants, however probably aren't cut right for you. Maybe a different style would work better.” So there are ways to tell the truth in a way that that the other person can hear….

Ever not been taken seriously?

“Prophets are not without honor except in their hometown, and with their relatives, and in their own home.” -Jesus (Mark 6:4)

Jesus took the disciples seriously and sent them out.

Jesus sent them out two by two...

Sometimes life feels completely out of control. Face it, things happen – sometimes it’s our own fault, sometimes it’s somebody else’s fault, sometimes it’s just crummy luck.

When we think about the things that our society wants to sell us as the answers to purpose and meaning and fulfillment, we eventually find out that paradoxically there really is too much of a good thing…and yet we are left still wanting more.

After the ascension of Jesus - He knew that his disciples lived in a world in which it was dangerous to be one of his followers.
