Jesus told Simon to put his boat out into the deep water and let down the nets. Simon told him that they had been fishing all night and caught nothing, but he went ahead and did it anyway.

We see the extraordinary every day and don’t even think about it.

Water shows up in our scriptures today as Jesus approaches the Jordan River.

No mincing words! But John speaks the truth! And the strange thing about John’s preaching was that it hit home.

As Jesus’ followers we watch confidently for our Lord’s return... whenever it might come.

To whom do we owe our ultimate allegiance?

Do not provoke me…what does this mean?

We should fear and love God, so that we do not despise our parents or superiors, nor provoke them to anger, but honor, serve, obey, love and esteem them.
