Rebellions episode one focuses on the internal conflict in Peru from the 1980s to the 2000s. Primarily, it investigates the role of the Shining Path or Sendero Luminoso, a Maoist guerilla group who, though preaching a gospel of liberation, ended up killing the people they claimed to be fighting for.
