Between 1980 and 2000 Spending on schools increased by 32% versus spending on prisons went up 186%. We will talk about the zero tolerance policies in schools that have expelled students for bringing nail clippers or even scissors to school. School suspensions rose from 1.7 Million in 1974 to 3.1 million in 2000 and have been most dramatic for children of color. Even if you don't have children in school you want to tune in to this....

Join us as we speak with the relatives of Charles Edward Lewis.  Charles Lewis was arrested on August 24, 2011  by Monroe, LA police dept. He was arrested on simple charges..He stole his girlfriends car and failed to stop at a stop sign.  Police arrested Lewis and shot him with a stun gun while handcuffed.  A short time later Lewis complained of breathing difficulties due to the recent traffic accident.  In less than an hour after being seen by the medical staff for his injuries, he was found hung in his cell with a bed sheet.  We will discuss this case and others.  Join Special Guests- Antoinette Harrell with Nurturing our Roots and Shellia Ross -Aunt of Frederick Jermaine Carter- lynching victim on December 3 2010

James Craig Anderson was the victim of a hate crime at the Metro Inn Hotel in Jackson Mississippi on June 26, 2011.  New Order Human Rights Organization along with other community activists had a prayer vigil and press conference at the hotel in Jackson, Ms on Sunday August 21.  We will get an update from the National President of New Order Human Rights Organization Gerald Rose about the prayer vigil and New Order's new chapter in Jackson MS.  Tune in...
