The Australian Government lobbied hard to member states of the World Heritage Committee to propose the ‘in danger’ listing of the Great Barrier Reef. Reza Barati was killed during an asylum seeker protest in the Manus island detention centre in 2014. Dozens were injured in the same incident. Barati's family is now seeking justice, and will fight the Australian government and security firm G4S, in court.
