Papa's Basement

Papageorgiou : Loser :: Kriksciun : Winner. Anger over a loss in a childhood analogy competition (sorry I just caused every woman reading this to slide off their seats) simmers to the surface, as I confront Eva Kriksciun, sister of Alex Kriksciun, the only child to ever defeat me at our yearly Wordmasters competition. It's very tongue-in-cheek...only 10% still-simmering rage, tops.

(On a heart-wrenching note, Alex passed away a few weeks ago. If you have any money to spare, please consider donating to Alex Kriksciun's daughters in order to make sure they're taken care of during these financially trying times. You may do so by clicking here.)

The Papa's Basement Podcast is interviewing our listeners (and any super-famous people that also want to participate) about how they're dealing with the Coronavirus quarantine. Are their jobs still there? Do they know anyone who's been infected? What are they looking forward to the most when this is all over? For our first interview, we talk to our friend Cece Halpert about how she's coping with lockdown in Rochester, NY.

Mikael and Eva delight in getting John to reveal just what a cheap piece of garbage he was when it came to paying strippers in the day. We also talk that old, creepy-as-hell video game Leisure Suit Larry, Eva shares a bizarre Alcoholics Anonymous story, and John reveals he's spent the last several weeks taking an online comedy class with a celebrity.

DC-area comedy fixture Pete Bergen joins the show to tell us about how he's holding up during quarantine and share some harrowing stories from his childhood and his pre-sobriety days. He's a very funny dude, and I hope you enjoy.

It's our third podcast done via the Anchor app under Coronavirus quarantine, and we're all just trying not to eat a bunch of pills and light each other on fire. Which describes everyone right now.
