Imagine that you are driving down a dark road when your headlights illuminate something you have never seen before. It is medium sized, hairless with a leathery hide. It has a greenish dark grey coloration and it's large black eyes reflect a bright red in your headlights. What is a ghost? Most would say that it is a spirit or someone's spirit, I believe. Imagine a dark place, where the sun never shines. The only illumination is a permanent twilight, the source of light never appearing in the sky or even peeking over the horizon. This unpopular book is called "The Flagship of the Satanic Panic". It was called a bestseller when it wasn't. Claims that it single-handedly started a "wildfire" of false claims of satanic activities back in the 1980s, when it really didn't gain popularity until almost ten years after it was published. It is referred to as a "debunked" or "disputed" book when those smoking gun claims fall very short of proving anything of the sort. Why then, bother to make all of these claims when they are false?
