Paranormal Palaver

BIGFOOT MONTH is upon us! We begin our journey by recounting our experience at the Ohio Bigfoot Conference. This includes a few voices recorded at Salt Fork Lodge in response to a pressing Bigfoot question.

In hour two, the erudite Dr. Jeffrey Meldrum presents the scientific evidence for the existence of a mystery primate. He assures us the search for Sasquatch is a worth endeavor, and the discovery of the century.

We are sponsoring the Red River Gorge Bigfoot Fest, May 30-31. Check it out: Red River Gorge Kentucky Bigfoot Festival.

We perused the news in preparation for BIGFOOT MONTH! We also window shopped at Seymour's Captive Cryptids and heard his story while getting the inside scoop on his products.

Hour two belonged to Tobias Wayland, a Singular Fortean, who educated us on the Mothman outside of Point Pleasant. It seems the presence of "winged humanoids" has a far greater lineage, covers the globe, and is intent on spreading fear . . .

NASA experiences budget cuts, yet still has its eyes set on Mars. Meanwhile, the mainstream media continues to treat the UFO subject as a comic relief skit.

Legendary UFOlogist Peter Robbins wrote about the media's "ridicule factor" and many other topics. He stops by the cabin to share his wisdom. The conversation takes an unexpected turn, and has repercussions for the show and future episodes . . .

Outside our cabin this week: a wolf in dire straits, ghost hunters get into a shoot out, and a planet where the rain is molten metal.

We also discussed theories of folklore, and pondered the grain of truth in most stories.

Our first VENDOR FEATURE, with CRYPTID COMFORTS!

In hour two, we shared some of our favortite tales which spawned here in the Bluegrass.

The year 1955 abounded in tales of small humanoids, each episode more bizarre than the last. L.W. and Aaron sort through many of these incidents, as recorded in the book Encounter at Kelly and Others of 1955, published by the Center for UFO Studies.

Dewey Edwards joins the conversation to unpack the ultimate example of this activity in our state: The Kelly/Hopkinsville Goblins. His latest book, Ten Hours of Hell, offers new insights into this affair.

L.W.'s teeth steal the opening of the program. Then, a murder plot among ghost hunters and secret chambers below the pyramids fills the news segment.

We then hand the show over to Ron Lanham and Joe Perdue, the collective known as Wild and Weird West Virginia, for an extended conversation.

P.S. Ron says we're doomed.

The "uncrowned pontiff" Patrick joins me- while Aaron is busy in the archives- to run down the news and answer the question: Am I too skeptical?

Then he surrenders his mic to Heather Moser so she may regale us with personal paranormal experiences. We also approach the all-encompassing wonder of folklore!

We step aside this week from your regularly scheduled program to study the life, works, sorrow, and mystery of one man: Edgar Allan Poe.

Besides the tragedies of life, what caused his constant despair?

How has his alcoholism been misunderstood?

What has been the lasting impact of his work?

Plus, a cat sorrowful unto death, a box of bones beneath a bed, and a hooded figure in black performing an annual ritual . . .

The great mysteries of our universe amaze and baffle us, but even more so when they combine, twist into one, and defy all laws and norms. Shannon LeGro visits to share her thoughts on this enigma. She has spent years collecting stories and providing experiencers a safe place to share. Her wisdom and compassion are greatly appreciated.

Sarah Cooper also stops by briefly to tell the macabre tale of the Snallygaster, our CRYPTID OF THE WEEK!
