The more I understand about thoughts the more I am able to manage them so they don't control me and sabotage me from being able to be present. When you develop an awareness for your thoughts, you can effectively choose which ones to "follow" and which ones to let go of. The problem is that we are wired to attach to negative thoughts five times more easily than we are to positive ones.
