There are so few opportunities to use this particular song as an episode title (this is certainly the first since I started TFM) that I snatched at it, without hesitation.
As a guitar player as was well aware of Gary Moore, and whilst not a card-carrying devotee, I was certainly more than aware of the range and depth of his work. I got to see him play live once, at the Montreux Jazz Festival in July 2010, and he certainly lived up to his reputation.
What I didn't know at the time was that it would be his last ever recorded performance, as he would die less than a year later in Estepona, he was 58. I have spent quite a lot of time there, it is a place I really like, and yet I had no idea of that part of the story.
I have included footage of that performance alongside side the original for no other reason than I was there, and finding it took underscored the poignancy of that night.
Stay safe.
Parisenne Walkways (featuring Phil Lynott) - Gary Moore
Parisienne Walkways (Montreux Jazz Festival, 2010) - Gary Moore
Therapy For Me (or TFM as I now refer to it) is a bit of an audio curiosity. It started out as a mechanism for me to clear my head, with the hope that by saying stuff out loud it would act as a little bit of self-help. It's remains loose in style, fluid in terms of content and raw - it's a one take, press record and see what happens, affair.
If you want to keep in touch with TFM and the other stuff I do then please follow me on Facebook, Insta, Twitter or Patreon. Thanks for getting this far.
