Park Peeps Podcast

🎢 What happens when bad things happen to good amusement parks? In this episode of the Park Peeps Podcast, Sean and Alex (aka The Coaster Kings @thecoasterkings) join hosts Demi (@magicalhijinx) and Joey (@joeynolfi) to break down the devastating impact of Palace’s corporate vision that reshaped (and degraded) one of the best traditional parks in the U.S. — with a special focus on the slow, painful destruction of Kennywood’s soul.

🚨 In this episode, we discuss:

• Kennywood: The corporate wrecking ball that’s hammered one of America’s most beloved parks, including the troubled future of the Steel Curtain coaster. Could the Herschend acquisition of Palace be the end of Kennywood’s tallest coaster?  🏗️
• Herschend’s Acquisition: What happens when they swoop in on Wild Adventures and Dutch Wonderland, too?  🌧️🎢
• Six Flags Magic Mountain: The closure of Superman: Escape From Krypton, and what that means for the park’s legacy.
• Theme Park injuries: Our guests share their worst injuries—it’s not as fun as the rides, but it’s definitely a wild story.
• SeaWorld Ohio: A look back at the chaotic closure of SeaWorld Ohio and why it’s still a cautionary tale for the industry (plus: flying whales) 🦈
• Cedar Point: Shady thoughts on their coaster lineup. Not all of them are fan favorites, folks. 🍿

Get ready for an insightful and entertaining dive into the silly corporate decisions that are shaping the future of theme parks. It’s not all sunshine and roller coasters—sometimes it’s just the harsh reality of what happens when big business gets involved.
