It should really be no surprise that the Bible repeatedly encourages the reader to look back in life and history and remember what God has done. This act of remembering often helps to chip away at our pride and serves as a map of guidance for us in days of uncertainty.

Remember to be good and to do good (vs. 1-2)

- Toward those in civil authority

- Toward everyone else in life

Remember your old frustrated state (vs. 3)

- You were internally ravaged

- You were relationally isolated

Remember God's amazing change in your life (vs. 4-7)

- He saved you in love and kindness

- He mercifully moved toward you

- He changed you and is changing you

- He forever has made you his own

Remember that God's ways are good (vs. 8)

- To do good and be good is profitable for you and for others
