Joseph had a life full of trials and blessing. He experienced both extremes

of very hard times and very good times. But he remained faithful to God and

God remained faithful to him.

Abraham obeyed God.

When God told Noah about things that he had never seen, Noah believed the word of God and did what God commanded him to do. Noah’s faith enabled him to faithfully follow God’s instructions even though he didn’t fully understand them.

Enoch was committed to God. He walked faithfully with God and continued to

seek God throughout his life. How can we walk as Enoch did?

This week, we discovered how Abel responded to God in faith.  His offering

to God provides an example, demonstrating to us that what we give to God is

just as important as the way in which we give.

Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life.

This is not “choose tomorrow whom you will serve”, this is not “choose

after you’re done with whatever else you are doing whom you will serve." We

must choose THIS DAY whom we will serve.”

When we worship God, we find Him; we encounter Him. It is a shared experience. It draws us close to Him, and the response that we receive is fulfilling. We connect with our Creator. We grow in our relationship with Him. He provides us with purpose, and we feel complete because of the experience that we share with Him.

When we gather together as the Church we make up a community of people who

have been redeemed by Christ and we respond together to what God has done

for us.
