In this sermon, we continue to see the impact of the Gospel in the lives of the early church.

Everyone loves and appreciates encouraging words and actions. Encouragement is defined as the action of giving someone support, confidence, or hope. When we study the early church and the trouble it faced, we see God brought someone to the church to be an incredible encouragement to the believers.

Something that is growing is always changing. Change is not always easy for people to believe in, but as the Spirit of God is at work change becomes more constant. One of the greatest moments in the early church was when the chief persecutor of the church experienced unstoppable change.

Christ died for us when we were helpless sinners, incapable of saving ourselves. Now those who believe in Jesus are given relief from the power of sin and a new life in Christ.

In the NT church, it was the “religious establishment” who opposed the ministry of Jesus, and then crucified Him, took the same hostile approach to the apostles. The enemy of God and His church has done everything possible to stop the message and mission from impacting others. As we continue to study the Acts of the Apostles we learn and realize that God’s church is the Unstoppable Church.

We see clearly that the world is a broken place and we play a part in fixing it. Knowing Jesus Christ gives us a greater purpose and flames our desire to experience unstoppable courage. In this message, we study the courageous example of Peter and John from Acts 4.

As followers of Jesus Christ, we know that God is always in complete control of every event that happens in our lives. We wholeheartedly trust and believe in His sovereignty. Because of that, we look at daily interruptions and encounters with others that may be unplanned and feel random, but we know from God’s perspective they are not. These unplanned meetings can be opportunities for God to use us when we least expect it.

Loving people is a powerful expression of loving God.

This passage of scripture shares with us the story of the early church experiencing growth because of their unstoppable love.
