We pray there might be a middle ground position - of reverence for God and His word, and an openness to the moving of the Spirit in our lives. The manifestation gifts are for our encouragement and direction in the church, may we seek the Holy Spirit to equip us for His glory!

Ps Christian Kahnt concludes our Holy Spirit series by looking at the person of the Holy Spirit. The third member of the Godhead is often the hardest for us to fathom having relationship with, perhaps because the Holy Spirit is often associated with his work. We must remember He is equal with the Father and the Son, He is just as much God as they are. The Holy Spirit thus is a person and knowing Him helps to make the Trinity real to us, and God's presence in our lives tangible.

Acts 1:8. Guest speaker Rachel Dunwell returns to PCC and shares an encouraging word on Pentecost. Many of the western church appear to have forgotten why the Spirit wants to fill them, if they believe it at all. Before any gifts or moving, the power of the Spirit always serves the purpose of the Spirit - awakening our hearts to Jesus. Passover is the coming of God's grace, Pentecost is the Holy Spirit empowering us to share that grace to a desperate world.

Ps Christian Kanht shares a timely word on Mother's Day. There can be much expectation placed on parents and particularly mums. We often feel inadequate when we cannot complete what we wanted, or measure up to some worldly ideal. The good news for mums - indeed for all of us - is we serve a God who is on our side. He sees what we can, knows what we don't, and is present when we cannot be. Rather than striving, our hope is in finding rest with Christ.

John 3:1-8. Andrew Mihaleff begins our new series on the Holy Spirit by looking at regeneration. An often overlooked area of the Spirit's ministry, the new birth is perhaps His most significant works. Just as salvation is an act of God, so too is the ability to respond to and receive His grace. We must remember that "you must be born again" is not a command directed at us, but a fact, by which we must check our own hearts, and plead for the Holy Spirit to work within us.

Anoj Joseph closes our missions series by looking at how we defend the faith. Many are quick to point to loving others at the expense of truth, while others will speak truth with no love. However we are called to lovingly speak truth to those around us. We should remind ourselves that while apologetics is not a substitute for preaching, it should be seen as a compliment to the gospel - and is often necessary when answering questions about or charges against God, the Bible or our faith.

However, mission is integral to the Christian life. The Great Commission - both local and global - is for all of us. The roadblock is usually our mindset; we pray we might be a people motivated to share Jesus boldly, creatively and intentionally.

For some, missions is a dirty word, but we must recognise it as an extension of Christ's work. 1 Corinthians 15:50-58. On Eaater Sunday, Ps Hilary Williams concludes our Victory series, observing the vanquishing of death. If Jesus does not rise, Christianity has no power and we are most to be pitied. But since He is risen indeed, this changes everything! We know our resurrection is assured because of His, and our work for Christ is never in vain.
