There are two approaches to life.

First is the way things are- where we differentiate between our life and money, thinking that we own our money.

Second is the way things are meant to be , where we acknowledge that although some was given to us for our expenses, but the rest is to do mitzvas, like dispensing charities and loans. We are just safeguarding our funds for a higher purpose.

In the month of Elul we add extra Charity Torah and mitzvahs to tip scale for a good year, in addition we pray extra for kindness and compassion for we realize that our actions are so insignificant compared to hashem’s greatness and kindness and that everything that we have (to do good deeds) in essence comes from him. לקו״ש לד
