Part-Time Characters

For this week's episode, Bridget and Sam tackle the paradoxical use of time travel in some of our favorite movies. They each pick their best and worst movies that use time travel correctly. For the record, they don't mean to say these movies are necesarily bad or incredible, just that they weren't as accurate about time travel as other movies have been.

Be warned! They discuss many movie spoilers but no need to worry. Check out our show notes at the bottom for the exact time where spoilers are discussed.

Question of the Week: What are you best or worst movies about time travel?

Great Days by Joakim Karud

Just because we are delayed in our Game of Thrones schedule does not mean we are not super excited and full of theories for the fifth episode of season seven, Eastwatch. For this week's recap, Adonis and Bridget get together to discuss Jon's new friendship with Drogon and possible romantic tension between him and Dany. Weird much?

We also had a third person join in to discuss the episode, our first time guest Kayla AKA Bridget's awesome cousin. She analyzes Arya's back handed compliments to Sansa and the appearance of a character that has been gone from the series for many years.

Also, why is no one believing Sam about the White Walkers?! So many frustration in this world full of obvious magic that refuses to believe the existence of the northern magic creatures.

Disclaimer: The audio is a bit jumpy every now and then but you get the idea of what they are saying. Sorry about this! Hopefully it will be better next time.

Another episode of our retro reviews! If you are new to our podcast, Retro Reviews is when we each assigned each other a movie to watch and then we discuss it together. It has to be a movie the person has never seen and should watch in order to call themselves a movie geek or fan. This week, we discuss Goodfellas, The Goonies, The Monster Squad and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

The fourth episode of season seven of Game of Thrones left us all in shock, on the edge of our seats and more obsessed with dragons than ever. Maria and Bridget get together to recap 'The Spoils of War', analyzing what is up with Bran's emotionless behavior, Littlefinger's possible demise and did we mention dragons?

This Week’s Cast:Maria Garcia and Bridget Serdock

For this week's episode of Part-Time Characters, the friends get together to discuss their favorite movies based on books. With so many book adaptations, it was hard to whittle down the list. Just ask Sam.

However, we managed to get it done and bring you a diverse list- from young adult books, to horror adaptations and romantic historical dramas (cue Bridget's extended sigh).

Bridget and Maria get together once again to talk about the latest Game of Thrones episode: The Queen's Justice. They discuss the recurring theme of the sins of the fathers and how their sons and daughters can fix or perpetuate their mistakes. They also talk about Jon Snow and Dany meeting for the first time and their arm wrestling for power and truth.

Cersei accepts a very valuable gift that will play well for her revenge and Euron taunts Jamie about sleeping with Cersei once the war is over. Jamie learns from his failures and Lady Olenna has a meaningful conversation with Jamie Lannister.

This week Bridget, Sam and Adonis get together to confess the terrible movies they secretly like to watch. However, what you are going to hear is a lot of talk about animals. Seriously. From the Jungle Book vultures to Bridget's spirit animal to a bird who makes a constant and not so subtle appearance in the episode.

Somewhere along the way, you will find a tangent about War for the Planet of the Apes and their lukewarm feelings towards it. So if you like to hear us talk for a whole hour without any real structure but a lot of funny statements, this is the episode for you!

Also... can you guess Sam's biggest guilty pleasure movie? Hint: it is super-hero related.

Question of the Week: What is your favorite guilty pleasure movie?

We are back with a Game of Thrones recap, this time talking about the second episode of the season, Stormborn. I am joined by Adonis Gonzalez to analize Dany's skepticism of Varys, a suprise attack to a fleet, budding romance and the appearance of an awaited character.

Is Arya going to the right place? Should anyone be left alone with Littlefinger? What's going to happen with Brienne and Tormund? We answer all of these questions as best as we can.

It is our first episode as Part-Time Characters! For this episode, we focus on one director, Christopher Nolan, his style and his latest film, Dunkirk.

Before that, Adonis joins us to geek out about all the things announced at San Diego Comicon. From Stranger Things trailer to Marvel's horrible new series Inhumans, Adonis takes us through all the latest announcements.

Afterwards, we talk about Christopher Nolan and defend our favorite movie directed by him. Then Sam and Maria talk for quite a while about watching Dunkirk in 70mm and on IMAX. They discuss the movie's score, sound production and the great perfomances by actors like Tom Hardy, Mark Rylance and Cillian Murphy.

Question of the Week: What is your favorite Christopher Nolan film?
