  • Episode 376: Feed A Friend (Punk) [Baltimore, MD]

Episode 376 features Trey from the Baltimore-based punk/hardcore band Feed a Friend. They were featured artists at this year’s PTR Fest at Fish Head Cantina in Baltimore. They just dropped a brand new EP this week, so definitely check it out wherever you listen to music. On the episode, I featured their track “Gorman Road.” In the conversation, we talked about the Baltimore music scene, some mutual friends, PTR Fest, and more! Thanks for listening and supporting local music. Feel free to drop a follow on the band’s page or the podcast page wherever you’re listening!

  • Episode 375: The Viper Brothers (Rock Cover Band) [Howard County, MD]

Episode 375 features The Viper Brothers. The closer/headlining act for this year’s PTR Fest at Fish Head Cantina on July 18 (they hit the stage around 10 PM). They are longtime friends of mine and they even played my wedding recently. Joined by Josh, Jason, Tom, and Naomi (via video chat), we caught up on everything they’ve been up to lately. It was a fun, highly comedic conversation. Thanks for listening and for supporting local bands!

  • Episode 374: Brad Cox (Mouthful of Graffiti Podcast & Skitzo Calypso) [Bel Air, MD]

Episode 374 features Brad Cox of the Mouthful of Graffiti podcast and Skitzo Calypso. Brad is a longtime veteran of the Baltimore music scene and just like me he has been supporting local musicians through his podcast for years. I am excited to have him back on the bill for PTR Fest this year with his full band performing at 7pm on Saturday July 18th at Fish Head Cantina. It is going to be a great time and if you are in the area, we hope you can make it out. In our conversation we talked about everything he is doing in the music scene including Mouthful of Graffiti Live at REB Records in Bel Air which is now a quarterly event featuring local artists and live podcast recordings. We also name dropped a bunch of our friends in the scene including Will Sims and Rachel Novak who are both hosting their own local music podcasts. On this episode I featured Brads track Achamoth Its in the Way by Skitzo Calypso. If you like it you can stream it wherever you like to find music. Thanks for listening and supporting local music. Check out Mouthful of Graffiti Podcast and Skits Calypso for more content.

  • Episode 373: LJR [PTR FEST EPISODE] [POP ARTIST] [WASHINGTON DC]

Episode 373 features LJR (Luke Justin Roberts), a longtime friend of mine and a local DMV pop musician. He’s playing July 18 at PTR Fest at Fish Head Cantina at 530PM, so I wanted to bring him back on the show. He’s been on the podcast too many times to count and is the most regular guest we’ve ever had. He’s releasing new music, and I featured his latest track “Follow the Mother Home” which you can stream wherever you listen to music. In the episode, we talked about LJR creative (Luke’s video business), what it’s like being a frontman and solo musician, some local gossip about The Slang, Montana, and much more. Thanks for listening and supporting local music!

  • Episode 372: The Slang (John & Felix) [Pop Rock] [Ohio/DMV]

Episode 372 features The Slang. Based in both Ohio and Maryland, The Slang is the brainchild of John and Felix, who have been releasing albums for many years now. They bring a very smooth, polished indie rock sound. Their full band will be featured at this year’s PTR Fest on July 18th at Fish Head Cantina, main stage at 6 PM. Get there early. They also have the honor of being formerly self-cancelled since their last appearance on the show. So John is back to tell the tale of the fallout. On the episode I featured their brand new track “lies, lies, lies” if you like you can stream it wherever you like.

  • Episode 371: Gardenwalk (Alternative) [Catonsville, MD]

Episode 371 features Gardenwalk from Catonsville, Maryland. They are featured at this year’s 5th annual PTR Fest at Fish Head Cantina JULY 18 in Halethorpe, MD, just south of Baltimore. They will be hitting the stage at roughly 6pm so get there early! Gardenwalk channels melodic gaze-core, drawing from shoegaze, post-hardcore, and alternative. Their sound juxtaposes delicate vocals with atmospheric grit, balancing fragility with catharsis. They are currently in the process of writing new music and I featured a short snippet of one of their new demos called “Playlist for the Moon.” In the interview, I spoke with Shaina and Brad. We talked about starting a new band after playing in many bands over the years, the Baltimore music scene, and much more.

  • Episode 369: Patrick Duffy Band (Blues Rock) [NYC]

Episode 369 features longtime friend of the show Pat Duffy of the Patrick Duffy Band, a high energy blues rock trio hailing from New York City featuring Pat on guitar and vocals, alongside Steve Conroy on bass and Max Yassky on drums. We’ve played several shows together over the years, so it was great catching up with Pat and Steve as the band continues releasing new music, including their latest live album, Nine Bodega Cats... Music from Arlene's Grocery, recorded at the legendary Arlene's Grocery in NYC. On this episode we feature their track “Ten Miles Gone” and talk about everything from Pat’s life as a teacher and the NYC music scene to songwriting, the guitar as an instrument, and much more. • Episode 368: Kevin Daniel (Nashville) [Singer/Songwriter/Americana]

Episode 368 features Nashville-based Americana songwriter Kevin Daniel. Hailing originally from North Carolina, Kevin brings a rich, soul-stirring blend of southern rock, gospel, blues, and heartfelt storytelling that he calls “Y’allternative Rock.” After years honing his craft in Brooklyn and building a reputation as a dynamic live performer, he’s now calling Music City home and continuing to turn heads with his powerful voice, honest songwriting, and high-energy shows.

Kevin’s musical journey took a profound turn after the tragic loss of his parents in a plane crash in 2013. That grief and celebration of their adventurous lives fueled his debut EP FLY, and he’s since released a string of acclaimed projects including Myself Through You, Things I Don’t See, Been Here Before, and his latest full-length The Life & Adventures of Kevin Daniel (via Organic Records). He’s shared stages with artists like Brittany Spencer and Mary Gauthier, toured extensively across the US, UK, and Mexico (often 100–150 dates a year), and earned praise for his ability to weave rock, soul, roots, and Appalachian influences into deeply personal songs. I featured his track “Bless Your Heart” on this episode. It’s a great example of Kevin’s signature mix of wit, warmth, and raw emotion that captures the spirit of Southern life with a modern edge. If you love authentic Americana with grit, soul, and plenty of heart, Kevin Daniel is a must-listen. Catch him live when he rolls through your town, and stream his music everywhere now.

  • Episode 367: Matt Bowe of Haha Charade (Indie Rock) [Philly[

Episode 367 features Matt Bowe of Haha Charade, an indie rock band out of Delaware. We’re super excited to be playing a show together this Friday at The Grape in Manayunk, Philadelphia, alongside BEES! and DelCobras. One of the best local indie music venues on the east coast.

On this episode, I featured Haha Charade’s track “Old Friend,” possibly their catchiest song to date. Matt and I got into a great conversation about balancing work, music, exercise, and songwriting, as well as the shared origins behind our band names. Both Haha Charade and The Hollow Truths lean into a tongue in cheek, slightly sardonic take on society at large, which made for a fun connection. Thanks for listening, and hope to see you at the show this Friday, 4/24.
