Ashley recounts the tragic life story of the 1957 Miss USA winner Mary Leona Gage; a story that includes a troubled childhood, being twice married with two children by 18 years old, being dethroned after it was found out she lied to the pageant committee, leading to a life of more marriages, estranged children, drugs, overdoses, and a meager career in Hollywood.

Shanda discusses how the Jackalope, a half rabbit half antelope creature, was created by taxidermist Douglas Herrick and his brother in 1932, which helped make their town of Douglas, Wyoming a tourist attraction, and evolved in a folklore that traveled around the world. Shanda talks about murderess Belle Gunness who lured men to her La Porte, Indiana farm from 1884 to 1908, possibly faked her death by setting her house on fire, and is responsible for 14 confirmed murders. Ashley discusses the Vulcan statue located in Birmingham Alabama built by Giuseppe Moretti to represent the city’s iron industry at the 1904 World’s Fair in St. Louis, Missouri.
