Ooooof. I broke in this one. A few times…
Hearing that echo doesn't mean you're back where you started, it just means that there's still a part of you that remembers, right?
We talk a lot about healing our inner child.
But what about our inner teenager?
The girl who didn’t just have a bad day where she didn’t like how she looked.
The girl who genuinely didn’t like herself.
Who compared herself constantly. Who picked herself apart. Who believed everyone else was prettier, thinner, cooler, more confident, more worthy.
Maybe you grew up. Maybe you worked through it. Maybe you learned to like yourself, even love yourself, and thought that part of your life was behind you.
And then something happens.
A comment. A photo. A change in your body. A rejection. A season where you just don’t feel like yourself.
And suddenly that teenage girl is right there again.
It can be surprising how quickly something you thought you had healed can knock you back down.
This episode is about her.
The teenage version of you who learned somewhere along the way that she wasn’t enough — and whether growing up and becoming more confident actually healed her, or if we just got better at quieting her.
Because maybe healing our inner child isn’t the whole story.
Maybe some of us need to go back and heal our inner teenager too.
