What would you do if you got divorced after 30 years?
What would happen if you were diagnosed with cancer and the doctor told you that you had DAYS to live?
At its root, we can all rise against the odds if we take responsibility for our lives and live in our purpose.
Mindset is everything, and when we have nothing left to lose is when we find the strength and courage to keep fighting.
In today’s episode, Sarah speaks with Dean and Bobbi Parker-Hall about how the struggles in their lives have led them to find infinite strength and the willpower to rise above what seemed like impossible odds.
Bobbi Hall grew up in foster care and was lucky to make it out alive. After leaving a 30-year marriage, she finally decided to do something for herself. At 56 Bobbi’s transformation showed when she placed 2nd at her first bikini competition. From there, Bobbi continued to unlock her potential and founded Modern Bodies, a science-based program designed and infused with a mind, body, spirit approach for the modern woman that sees herself staying strong, sexy and active well into her later years.
Dean Hall’s story began after he married his college sweetheart. After years of having a successful personal and professional life, Dean’s life flipped upside down after his wife passed away in less than two months after her diagnosis. Soon after, Dean was told that he had days to live after being diagnosed with lymphoma and leukemia. After learning about his condition, Dean decided that he wasn’t going out without a fight. That is when Dean decided to leave a legacy for his daughter and became the first person in history to swim the entire 184 miles of the Willamette River in Oregon. After being told that his cancer was incurable, Dean is now cancer-free and inspires others to not give up and wholeheartedly pursue their passion.
Both Bobbi and Dean talk about their journey, explain the importance of not letting your circumstances define you, and tell their story of how finding meaning in their life helped them to heal from trauma and reach new depths mentally, physically, and spiritually.
