In a world wrestling with hopelessness, as believers in the Gospel, we are able to to be ready to give strong reasons for the hope that is in us. Our hope is firmly established on what God has already done for us; it is empowered by what He is doing in us and it continues to be inspired by His love and His Holy Spirit.

The purpose of this encouraging teaching is to equip the hearers to hope wholeheartedly - like never before - and to bring the hope of the Gospel to a hopeless world. Following the example of Abraham, we are to be people of hope, even though many things at times may seem hopeless.

Not wanting to add to the pressure of Father's Day - by emphasizing the short-comings of some dads - this Sermon seeks to inspire all parents to be great examples for the next generation, by following the example of other great parents; in meeting the needs of the young through sacrificial commitment to their provision, protection and progression.

While Jesus did all the hard work in bearing all of our shame and in fulfilling all the prophecies that said He would do so, sometimes Christians still experience shame for being trapped by shameful things.
